@Ric Please can we issue 24 hour bans to any blue who suggest that Pep "overthinks" champions league ties?

It's the most meaningless and baseless phrase in City history and it irritates me much more than it should the way that it's become some kind of cliche.
To paraphrase a previous post "Opinions & Arseholes " we all have one .You have yours and I have mine

Weird that no one talks about Ángel Di María for me he made them tick against Bayern there link man his skill is underrated in the PSG team he needs serous marking..

Agree. Think Rodri has a big role tonight to shut him down or cut out any balls when they try to play through midfield. Don’t think he did a great job of that for spells against Dortmund but he’s well capable

These bastards battered Bayern in Munich. Nervous and a little concerned. This will be harder than the final if e get there. Have to score away from home obviously. Would take a 2–2 right now even potentially take a 3-2 loss both good positions for home tie. This is a different league to what we have been used to. Bring it on. Pity we not over there

They accuse him of overthinking whilst sitting in their underpants scratching their arses. It's one of the worst clichés on this board.

Bayern had 31 shots that night, 12 on target! It would have been a very different story if they had Lewandowski.

PSG are absolutely ruthless on the break so we have to control the tempo perfectly and we’ve got to be clinical. May as well try and get some away goals tonight I think.

They didn't, they got absolutely leathered but hit Bayern on the counter.

I'm gonna have to take some tranquilizers .. or probably more likely lots of alcohol watching this game

That diving wanker Neymar winds me up watching the soft arse continuously cheat against teams I couldn't care less about... never mind v us in our biggest game in years

Good shout

I'm surprisingly chilled about this game. Thought I'd be more on edge.
Probably because they're not a team I would hate to lose to and also it's a first leg anyway so it won't be over after the match. I'm also confident we'll get at least one goal so even if we do lose we could pull it back next week. Having said that I think we'll win comfortably and I'll be more nervous next week worrying that we're going to throw it away or get stitched up by the officials.

We'll keep the ball, it all depends on if we take the chances we will invariably make on the night. IMO we are a much better side than PSG and it's up to us and Pep in particular to prove that.

My confidence is high, I even believe we will take a win to the Etihad, no slip ups, no mistakes, just clinical and bring home the bacon.

Going to be tough over two legs but confident we can progress. They might have two outstanding individuals but we have an outstanding team.

Ederson
Walker Dias Laporte Cancelo
Bernardo Rodri Gundo
Mahrez Kev Phil

It's vital we grab an away goal, but we have to be controlled. In the Spura away tie we played for an effective 0-0 with the idea of winning at home. If we don't score it hands PSG the initiative and they're best on the counter and in transition. Defensively they can be got at, and Bayern were able to get in-between the lines quite a lot.

Their fullbacks are both questionable as well, Florenzi might play but he struggles with pace, as does Dagba who Coman continuously ripped apart.

For us I'd play Cancelo as his ability to drift inside means we can control the pockets Neymar operates in as well as having Walker as part of the back three to combat Mbappe.

If we play the way we can, I'm confident we can get a result.

Apart from zubrman's mate Steve, and Dave who lives up the road from me. You'd have to check the "6 points to win the league" thread to find out why.

I saw a decent article a couple of months back (Marcotti's IIRC) that said perhaps a better way to look at it was that Pep simply thinks a lot.

The fact that Pep thinks deeply about the game is one of the things that makes him a great coach. That he may appear to do more of it than normal with later stage UCL games is perhaps down to the nature of the opponents being faced.
