Partridge

Really poor this. The first series was hit and miss but this is wank. It needs to be a bit more subtle and the Simon section needs to be stopped.
That's spot on. The Office was more subtle as you could genuinely believe in David Brent as someone who you'd come across in a real office. But Partridge is just too OTT to be genuine funny. You cringe for the wrong reasons.

Let's face it. Partridge has nosedived since 2002. I've not even watched the last 3 episodes of the first series (which is still on my Sky+ box), yet I'm a HUGE Partridge fan.

The new writers have turned his obnoxiousness (which, to me, was his character) into a bumbling, uncomfortable prat.

Those Fosters sponsored 10 minute internet clips were (to me) unfunny, followed by the dull Mid Morning Matters, a forgettable film, and the equally dull first 3 episodes of series one's This Time.

The only thing worthy of the Partridge name, post 2002, waa the first half of the book "I, Partridge"....the rest of it, pah.

I'd forgotten about Friday, but as the SL season is now running, unless I purposely look for it, Partridge has flown

The office is only funny if you have worked in an office and know all the characters in the show but in real-life form.

I never really found it that funny tbh

I never liked Phoenix nights either, runs away quickly :)

Each to their own mate. I know you enjoy Mrs Browns Boys. Not for me but that's what tickles you. Fair play.
Mrs Browns Boys was funny for two series then that is when it should have been culled, apparently it was a good live show experience.

The English, especially BBC radio, have long specialised in unfunny comedy.
Professor Jimmy Edwards, Harry Worth, Terry and June, Sid James, Lenny Henry, Jimmy Clitheroe, and the greatest of them all Peter Brough, a ventrilloquism act on radio ffs.
Feel free to add your own comedy bete noire.
