Grealish agent Jonathan Barnett:He loves Villa but I think we just have to wait and see how things pan out. At the moment he is a Villa player & he has no thoughts about anything else

Right I've had to move a load of posts as this thread was becoming a disaster.

4 things to mention before this thread continues:

1) People are allowed to say they don't want Jack Grealish, it's an opinion.

2) The people who don't want Jack Grealish don't keep saying it every 2 or 3 posts.

3) Points 1 and 2 also apply to people that want Jack Grealish.

4) Discuss Jack Grealish by all means and where he would or wouldn't fit into the team but don't start abusing each other if you don't agree with each other.

The transfer window hasn't even opened yet and some of the transfer threads are already getting very tedious .

I am not completely knocking Grealish but Mahrez (before he had joined City both Premier League and in the Champions ) and Sterling (up until this season),who had performed and has achieved a lot more under constant abuse for longer. This is Grealish first stand out season and he has missed the last couple of months and had tailed off before the injury after his promising start.Although fair play to Grealish for handling Derby day abuse in the best way possible.

Just a thought, if we don't sign a striker because of the prohibitive cost this Summer window, then we will definitely need another attacking midfielder if we continue with the false 9 system.
True, and, given our style and approach, there are none better than this lad, hence why we are allegedly balls deep.

It’s also similar to the situation when we signed Mahrez; we looked then to be set comfortable in terms of wide players, yet players move on and systems develop.
You can never have enough good players, the issue is keeping them content.

What do I do if I’m on the fence?

Spot on

Who would have thought we would have moved on so well since
Yaya
Vinny
Zaba
David

It’s also another reason why I just cannot see us breaking our pattern to buy an extremely expensive striker. If we lose to Chelsea in the CL, we might do that if it’s evident that one striker would have made the difference, but even then it’s unlikely. We’ve stuck to our plan and added pieces slowly and carefully; we’re playing the long game and it appears to be working. Wouldn’t surprise me if Grealish was the only signing we made this summer. We’d always like more, of course, but we’ll see.

Its not a similar situation to Mahrez at all. Mahrez left Leicester with a Premier League medal and a promising season in the Champions League for Leicester, along a few indvidual honours to boot and starring against us in the 4-2 defeat to them in Pep's first season in charge. I am being provoked here so again I am going to leave it until if Grealish signs.

Grealish plus 1 striker would be an excellent transfer window but I trust our owners and they know what they are doing. Happy days!

That is a very good point. There were even articles in newspapers from Redshirt client journalists pissing and moaning that we had signed another team’s best player when we “didn’t even need him”
