We did that didnt we - forgot lol.

I'll admit, I googled to check. All these trophies get confusing at my age.We did that didnt we - forgot lol.
And that is why I am somewhere in the middle when it comes to the competiton.I like the Champions League but hate UEFA and those cunts at FIFA, The FA and The Premier Leagues are cunts too.

I've been very lukewarm about the CL. Didn't even bother going to the games for a couple of seasons. But I'm not ashamed to say I had tears in my eyes on Tuesday night. I just want us to win everything in sight, having waited so long to see us win anything.
And it helps that we beat the bastards at CAS plus I think we're entering a new era with our relationship with them. Probably go back on the CL scheme next season and looking forward to maybe doing some away games.
You see this is why this whole "I don't like the Champions League because I don't like UEFA" sentiment doesn't wash with me. In reality I believe a lot of it represents an inferiority complex, or Imposter Sydrome.I like the Champions League but hate UEFA and those cunts at FIFA, The FA and The Premier Leagues are cunts too.
This thread just reaffirms that humans can be incredibly stubborn.
Everyone deep downs knows how big this is for the manager, the players, the club AND the fans.
And what about the Premier LeagueIt means a lot more to the owners than to me, however it was also clear to see on Tuesday how much it also means to the players.
Therefore I am happy to support the players and hope we win it for them, it still sticks in my throat though how they tried time and time again to screw us over.

I think you may have a point about impostor syndrome but the difference between the FA Cup and CL is that the latter has been changed over the years to be a cash cow for certain clubs, along with insulating them from elimination for as long as possible. You see this is why this whole "I don't like the Champions League because I don't like UEFA" sentiment doesn't wash with me. The FA have always been a bunch of old white public school men, totally out of touch with reality, who have taken MCFC to task legally numerous times for bullshit reasons.
I've never heard anyone say they didn't want to take part in or win the FA Cup.
The Premier League was formed by all the biggest clubs to syphon all the revnue towards them. They've fucked about with kick off times and days and ignored matchday fans repeatedly. They've allowed their club to be run by the biggest clubs. Their referees are shit too.
I've never heard anyone sat they didn't want to win the Premier LEague.
It doesn't matter what you think of UEFA. Their trophy is the biggest and most prestigious of all and it has provided us with some of the best, most exciting games in our history already.
Similar criticisms can be levelled at the Premier League and I wouldn't be surprised if fans of tradition lower league clubs are as suspicicious about the premier league as some of our fans are about the Champions League.I think you may have a point about impostor syndrome but the difference between the FA Cup and CL is that the latter has been changed over the years to be a cash cow for certain clubs, along with insulating them from elimination for as long as possible.
Coefficients, seeded pots, the whole group stage, which is designed to favour the better teams, going into the Europa League if you fail in the group stage, the market pool system which financially favours teams from the big leagues, etc. It's been systematically rigged by a handful of clubs, to suit themselves.
The FA Cup, on the other hand, is a true knockout tournament that can see you drawn against Liverpool or Lincoln. And if you don't turn up on the day, you're out. Lose one game and you're out. Whereas Liverpool lost 4 games in winning the CL two seasons ago. That's why people are still a bit suspicious of the CL.
Even the old European Cup format was home and away so you could theoretically lose one leg and still go through. But i agree that the current format isn't great. The FA Cup, on the other hand, is a true knockout tournament that can see you drawn against Liverpool or Lincoln. Premier league hate us just as much and would kick us out given the chanceIs pretty much how I feel about it, especially as its UEFA's baby and the way they've treated us over the years puts my back up against it, but this year has felt different, as though I have accepted we need to win it to show how great this team is to others along with the fact we have a realistic chance and have put in some wonderful performances in these latter stages.
I just like booing it seems to bring out more emotion in a crowd than cheeringWhen I boo the Champions League music I`m showing my disgust of the corrupt organisation that run it and are trying to extend it for there own financial gain.
Even the over the top fanfare of a draw sickens me.
