In the 5 day old (finalised) case data the top 3 infected England boroughs are (with weekly Pop Scores and in brackets for the GM boroughs their Pop Scores NOW - five days on from the 'latest' Gov UK list))

(Remember the higher the Pop score the worse - going up bad / going down good):

1 Bolton 275 (now 327)

2 Bedford 122
3 Blackburn 118

Erewash in 4th is the only other borough with a Pop score over 100 in England

Kirklees at 5 (Pop 67) and Burnley 9 (Pop 51) are the other regional boroughs explaining why the NW is struggling. (Kirklees borders parts of GM).

Hounslow in 6th (Pop 57) is the only area south of the Midlands in the top 10.

Sheffield is 10th (Pop 50) and Leeds 11th (Pop 49)

The rest of GM boroughs:- Place in the list of all 315 England boroughs - 5 day old weekly Pop Score creating list - Pop Score as of last night updated from this 'finalised' list via the GM daily list I post here.

14 Manchester Pop 47 (now 48) Blackpool is in 17th (Pop 45)

20 Rochdale Pop 43 (now 40) Bradford is 21st (Pop 42) High Peak is 26th (Pop 41)

35 Wigan Pop 38 (now 36)

42 Tameside Pop 34 (now 32)

43 Stockport Pop 34 (now 33)

54 Trafford Pop 30 (now 36) - been rising lately

58 Bury Pop 28 (now 42) - Bury has escalated considerably in the past 5 days in the daily data.

74 Salford Pop 26 (now 29)

And 129 Oldham Pop 18 (now 20)

Cheshire East is at 113 (Pop 19)

Liverpool is at 240th with a Pop of 11 - dramatically reversed from where it was in December/January.

Wirral is even better (and was as bad as Liverpool in January). Now at 272nd with a Pop of just 9.

The Bury change in these 5 days has been entirely missed by depending as Gov UK do on thee 5 day old lists, It is why they were so slow seeing what was happening in Bolton.

Be interesting to know why Merseyside is doing so well versus Greater Manchester.

This is why GM is driving the NW Cases right now. Merseyside is very very low.

Wales data:

0 deaths - was 1 last week

32 cases - was 30 last week

0.7% positivity - was 0.6% last week

Zoe App is all over the place. Today shows a BIG rise in cases and North West shooting up into the dark pink zone.

Let us hope they are wrong.

East England also joins the dark pink zone.

I think we will discover that the Indian variant is being spread by the bees.

It seems to home in on areas that start with that letter anyhow - Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley, Bedford, Bradford etc.

Now Bury in GM is showing signs of an uptick of cases.

If you live in a B town get vaccinated!

This theory is sponsored by Twits on Twitter. Co.Uk.

If it moves to C and then G named towns can we blame the BCG vaccines?

Not really difficult to work out why infection rates are what they are in those areas...

Zoe App

Predicted Cases 2795 up from 2258 yesterday - 537 rise biggest in one day in ages.

North West UP into dark pink zone.

Predicted symptomatic cases also up big to 34, 539 from 32, 634 (a rise of 1905 - also biggest in months)

These are quite concerning signs.

NORTH WEST NUMBERS

(Predicted active cases / Estimated cases per million population locally / Both V yesterday)

BOLTON 348 / 1227 v 29 / 103 - A big rise.

Back as an area of concern according to Zoe. Though nothing like the 4000 it was up to.

Others GM Areas:-

BURY 79 / 417 v 45 / 241 - quite a big rise here tracking its cases increase in real data

MANCHESTER 105 / 193 v 80 / 147 - another increasing slowly - the norm today

OLDHAM 35 / 149 v 32 / 141 v 68 / 290 - is up too but only marginally and not in trouble.

ROCHDALE 20 / 94 v 16 / 75 - like the above up a little day to day

SALFORD 22 / 86 v 21 / 84 - no real change here but very low as real cases show.

STOCKPORT 81 / 282 v 73 / 254 - a fairly modest rise here. But higher than it should be.

TAMESIDE 31 / 138 v 32 / 141 - a tiny fall but it IS a fall

TRAFFORD 56 / 240 v 51 / 218 - small rise much like Stockport

WIGAN 29 / 90 v 32 / 98 - surprising but welcome small fall here

Chorley has also fallen lots and out of any concern at all to 15 / 131 v 80 / 693

Fylde (Blackpool) is miles down on 7 / 93 v 65 / 827

High Peak (Glossop/Whaley Bridge/Buxton) is also way down on 20 / 222 v 208 / 2273

These numbers seem to leap about too much to really be very reliable.

But according to Zoe the worst areas in UK right now are:-

Newport (Wales) 935 / 6142

North Lanarkshire (Scotland) 1745 / 5156

Aberdeen (Scotland) 1122 / 4963

North Lincolnshire 757 / 4444

Bedford 755 / 4443

Leeds 3013 / 3844

Wolverhampton 895 / 3444

I bet if none of them smoke, take too many drugs, eat or drink to excess, they would say the same for any treatment they might.. Can see where you are coming from but it would clearly be a bit of a minefield.
true but when someone smokes it doesnt impact the rest of the country with the threat of further lockdowns does it??
