Shush, not allowed to slate Raz on here.
I know, I know but after last night, I can’t see a handful of know nothing fucknuts’ posts anyway which is great.

But I’ve always been super pro-Sterling because he deserved it. However he’s not put in good back to back games for over 12 months now and the numbers he’s demanding for his new contract are an absolute piss take.

There’s currently more chance of me scoring with Margot Robbie than Raheem when he has sight of goal. The confidence he quote obviously has (on paper £££) doesn’t presently relate to the confidence he’s showing with ball at feet.

The numbers are excellent for Villa. But they're not for me within the context of our squad. We've got four guys who would get those numbers playing for Villa at least. I don't see anything that would make him stand out beyond Foden, Bernardo, Mahrez, KDB, Gundo
Yeah, the players you mention are all great and won’t be replaced....

But notice you’ve mentioned midfielders AND forwards, very few can play both. And none of them rely solely on pace, like Grealish doesn’t. Which is why they’re suited to City.

The club want to renew his contract. The club.

Where has he demanded anything? Swallowing tabloid bullshit hook line and sinker.

I didnt think we had suitable cover for gundogan in that left sided 8 role until foden played it yesterday. Hes struggled there a few times in the past but was incredible yesterday.

Thats where i see grealish playing with foden still wide left.

it would make sense to me to move on (reluctantly) sterling and jesus.

Grealish is suited to City, I don’t disagree. My issue is the club don’t seem to want any player that would need to move on to make room to move on. So that suggests to me we might be looking in case Sterling doesn’t extend but if he does we’ll drop any interest, I can’t see anyone else other than Sterling going to make a spot for Grealish.

Pep doing to England what he did in Germany Haha love it, take the best players from other clubs add them to your own less competition, front three of Grealish Kane Foden with Mahrez Raz and Ferran as back ups

The rumours don’t go away.

I think many also would say that McGrath wouldn't post a story if it didn't have some credibility. I think its obvious we are looking to see what the finances would be and I don't think it even relies on anyone leaving

Germany and Spain both won the World Cup thanks to Pep.

Yep, he brings in the talent of the country and nurtures them, helps them to their best potential. That German team had a Bayern core and the Spain team had a Barca core, all coached by Pep at club level. Trying to do that now in the premier league. Raheem,Walker,Stones,Foden add Grealish and Kane that’s a english core. That will know how to play the pep way. You are looking at potentially England’s front three being coached by Pep

So because a loud minority won't stop going on about how shit Sterling is, they're automatically right?

Not how it works.
He’s a frustrating player, and consequently some people will over egg their criticism of him, which is natural on an internet forum, just as some will go too far in jumping to his defence as if he’s playing like prime Pele.

I‘d love it for him to get his confidence back, and yesterday was a classic example of where his game is at currently. You only have got watch that Kev clip to see some of his runs were perfect, yet ball at feet bearing down on goal and he currently turns to shit. How many times recently have we seen him one on one and he’s not scored any of them, not a solitary one. If it’s not a fluff with his left it’s an attempt to chop inside and then stumble over his own feet or run into a player etc etc.

Quite how he gets over this is the conundrum as he is not going to be first choice on the left any time soon whilst Phil is about, and Pep doesn’t seem to want to play him on the right any more, which I think is where he should be personally, but I’m not paid to manage the team, lol.

Throw in the mix the need for a new contract and it all gets a bit messy.

Grealish’s versatility is definitely something which fits with the type of players we like to sign. Same with his technical ability. I’ve never really disputed that.

I appreciate a lot of people think this is a nailed on transfer but I’ve always felt it feels more like a marker. The priority is 9 and that going to be expensive . This one feels in % terms less than 50 of it actually happening because were stacked in that department.
