Jack Grealish

Yep - I just can’t see the club prioritising yet another attacking midfielder when our clearest need is up front.

We have incredible options in Grealish’s position already, whereas at 9 we now have just Jesus (who is a great player, but could hardly be described as clinical) and Delap (who has just turned 18)

For me, I’d far rather we left both Grealish and Kane well alone, and went all out for Haaland.
Maybe the club have knowledge that Haaland is a non starter this window, then what would you suggest?

To put it plainly, I fundamentally disagree with you when you say this:

The only sections of a club that remains loyal is/are the fans.

There are plenty of examples of loyalty in football outside of a club's fanbase. Equally, there are just as many examples of disloyalty on the side of supporters.

For instance, would you not agree Grealish has shown plenty of loyalty to Villa? That's just one example I can think of which also conveniently keeps this on topic.

Usually statements about there being no loyalty in modern football come from jaded supporters who have fallen out of love with their club or the sport in general.

That being said, I'm almost certain you don't fall into that category and the fact that you're clearly intelligent enough to see through your own hyperbole would suggest that you've just made a flippant comment in order to defend some of the more uncalled for criticism of our player.

Supporters are fickle and I often fall into that category too but some people have been way out of line and dance between being WUMs and playing victim when called out on it.

Anyway, it is what it is. I'll stop fucking the thread up. Don't take anything I say seriously, I'm an idiot.

Exactly......He is also one of a handful of players that would worry me if the Rags, chelsea or the Dippers signed him.
We have seen it in recent days, the genuine fear that if we sign Kane, they might as well all pack up and go home for the next five years.

We have got to take advantage of this genuine fear, rip their fucking hearts out and do maximum damage this summer.

We need to maintain the gap and you do that by crushing hope.

Grealish and Kane in those teams you mention closes the gap too close for comfort.

I remember me staying at a villa one summer in Val De Lobo, swimming in the pool, drinking margaritas and enjoying life.

Next minute, fucking Sky breaking news, United agree to sign Van Nistelrooy for £19m and Veron for £28m.

I was fucking livid, wife told me to chill, but I sobered up pretty quickly, those bastards were buying from a position of strength.

It's our turn now. Man City ruining summer holidays since 2021!!

Any progressive talks on the Grealish deal Tolm?

Wasn't it a no brainer to put in a £100m+ bid for Dele Alli a couple of seasons ago?

Personally, I'd leave him where he is for now and if he goes somewhere else then so be it, there will be better players our there by the time the need for a midfield refresh comes. Until then, he doesn't immediately improve what we have.

Dele Ali of two years ago was a brilliant prospect, his problems have nothing to do with his ability and more to do with his lack of focus and distractions off the field.

I was hammered on here last summer when I said John Stones was world class and absolutely needed to be given another chance to stake his claim.

Players do blow hot and cold, every transfer comes with an accepted level of risk.

That risk is mitigated by players who clearly have true quality and need it harnessing.

Grealish under Pep would see him become Kev's true successor.

High praise indeed.

I can see where you're coming from, even if I'm pretty certain Grealish will never, ever reach anything resembling De Bruyne levels. He just doesn't have that ability but there's no shame in that.

I also get where you're coming from with regards to strengthening when we're on top but players like Kane and Haaland are a direct squad improvement, whereas Grealish isn't. Maybe in a few years when others leave but then that negates us strengthening right now.

Cracking player but I just don't see him as an immediate priority. Similar to Aouar last summer.

Give me a centre forward first, then if we can find a Kane/ Haaland quality player at defensive mid or left back then I think those are moves that will have our rivals dialling the Samaritans.

I think there are plenty of examples of fans turning on players but I think fans usually stay loyal to their football clubs

Grealish is a Villa fan though. It’s like Foden staying and remaining patient at City whilst Diaz and Sancho fucked off to “better” their own careers. It’s exactly my point.

Sterling has no more loyalty towards City than he had to Liverpool than he had to QPR. If he was in the form of his life, he’d probably continue to cast coquettish glances towards Madrid like he did in Feb/March last year when everything he touched found the back of the net. Unlike some fans, I have no issue with that, I understand some players fall in love with their clubs but the vast vast majority don’t and won’t. It’s their job and I’m positive Sterling wants to stay as City as there’s no better gig in world football (at the minute), but he’d be pounding on the exit door if we were in 17th place. C’est la vie.

I’d much rather he had found his form than City selling him because he now has 12 months left on his deal and it’s a hell of a bet to sign him for another 5 years on mega-wages if he’s unable to get that sparkle back (especially when the best young forward in the league is now blocking his path)

Anyway, it is what it is. I'll stop fucking the thread up. Don't take anything I say seriously, I'm an idiot.

No you’re not, don’t talk silly. We are grown ups giving our opinions (which are most likely worth what we’re paying each other for them!).

And to think united or Chelsea would be paying Kanes wages for a season with the sancho sell on money!

I completely agree. There was a statistic shown the other day about our trophy successes post takeover. Whilst Mancini and Pellegrini both enjoyed successful moments, it’s nowhere near as dominant as Pep has made us. He clearly is the best and I was wrong for doubting him

We’ve got another 2/3 years of Pep and we’d be negligent as a club if we did not back him fully in the transfer market.

We win the big one on Saturday and there’s also the UEFA super cup and Club World Cup to factor in next season.

There’s a realistic chance that Pep could leave us after winning 20+ trophies in his tenure. Signing Kane and Grealish would put us in a fantastic position to do this over the next few seasons.

Veron.. not exactly a successful signing lol

I think he’d be more Dave & Mr Whippy’s successor. Under Pep I think he has all the attributes to control the tempo of a game like Gundo this season & Dave before him

Couldnt agree more, and thankfully Pep is ruthless enough to ensure that scenario plays out.

I genuinely cant see any more of your holidays being spoiled for a very long time ;-)
