If City knew this to be the case we would have briefed and distanced ourselves from it by now. As it stands we are clearly bang in for him and we will get him if we can agree a deal with Spurs. If we can’t agree a fee and the rags pay up then maybe they’ll have a chance.

There is just no way Kane refers to us as the best side in the world and says he would want to play with De Bruyne above anyone else in England if he was on the verge of signing for them.

Like the rest of the bits in his interview. For me at least.

i think its a city player (sterling) spurs may want and a swap plus money deal will be involved
but sterling may say no chance am staying put ? the only thing is sterling is from north london and maybe a move back could temp him and starting every week

i do feel its more than a media hype and not a so so crazy story to go this far. also it could be a trick city are using to sign haaland and lower there asking price knowing he walks away next season for free

me being greedy i would want both kane and haaland at city and sell sterling and maybe jesus ? i love sterling but i think he is never going to be clinical enough for pep and city going forward. great player and on his day lights up the place. but also can stink the place out with shocking misses

My point is that if Kane was definitely going to United and we were being labelled as favourites every day in the press (as we are) we would definitely have briefed by now or at least given a steer to a few city Journos that we aren’t involved, as we did with Mendes.

I know the context of what Kane said about De Bruyne as I’ve seen the whole interview but you just don’t say that the one player you feel would improve your game is KDB if your on the verge of signing for the rags and you certainly don’t say Foden is playing for the best team in the world.

I’m not saying he will definitely come here, just that it’s clearly not v close being done with the rags as the other lad has heard.

Why would a player go from City to Spurs when Spurs look hopeless even with Kane in there? Both Sterling and Jesus could go to a CL team, in England or Spain or Italy, a team with much better chances to compete. It's amazing that some people couldn't see things from their perspective. Next year Sterling and Jesus will be one year away from leaving on free and could attract interest from much better clubs than Spurs. It's brainless to think they will accept a move to Spurs.
