Ake and Torres were both reportedly in the bag, and materialised early on enough.

Dias obviously at the very end, when we went and paid a big fee for a young player with long term value, after we had reportedly had ready made prime koulibaly done and dusted all summer but wouldn't pay the same price being insisted on for an older player (personally hoping for a repeat of that with Kane/Haaland).

How highly do you rate him? And,are the claims by some of our fans that he would struggle for a game here valid,in your opinion?

Cheers
Grealish is world class, I don't think there is a team in the world he wouldn't play regularly in. He'd probably benefit from not playing every week as he takes a hammering in most games. He's on par with Foden imo but slightly different players. He is deceptively fast by the way. If he were to leave most Villa fans would wish him well and understand, he has done a lot for the club and will always love the villa. A front 4 of kdb. Foden. Grealish and haaland would be ridiculous. Grealish is very right footed, I don't think opposition realise this as much as they should! I can only see him going to city or united and if I were born in Manchester I'd definitely be a blue. I still stand by my original statement about villa and their owners. It would take an offer north of 100m due to his importantance to the team.

He’s a top player but ‘world class’ not sure about that. Imo you can only label that at a player when they have performed at the highest level against quality opposition on a consistent basis. He has not done that yet.

With respect what is the premier league if not world class? He had done for last 2 seasons in an average team and again for England was the best player on the pitch. I've watched him every week for the last 7 years so I'm pretty confident in my assessment, nobody else in that squad I'd class as world class. Maybe martinez but not after just 1 season. If you can think of a team he wouldn't get regular minutes in I would be interested to hear that is :)

Cheers for that, other than the fee I won't disagree with anything.I don't think many realise just how comfortable the lad is anywhere across the midfield/attack.Thankfully Pep apparently does ;-)

So the split is 85% for and 15% against for JG but only 55% for Kane.
What a load of mad fckrs we are....

Interesting isn’t it!

Personally I’d rather we signed neither - Grealish as I just don’t see where the space in the squad opens up for him, and Kane because at his age and the money we’d have to pay I just can’t see how we can make the deal work.

But at least we actually need someone in Kane’s position.

I think as long as Haaland is still a possibility, a lot of people can’t get behind the idea of Kane at City. Myself included!

Kane's figure is diluted by Haaland (possibly) being available though.

And rightly so, that is the context. As is the price it would take to get him. If aguero was staying, that figure would be 'diluted' even more.

I think the Kane figure is actually exaggerated, as those that fancy him in the team have been going to the effort to remove all context from the question.

For me a world class player is someone who has performed at the very highest level for a number of years and has done it constantly in high pressure situations... I agree the premier league is very high standard but playing very well consistently for 2 seasons does not make someone world class. Just my opinion.

I watched jg make his debut for villa, he came on as a sub, and was fouled 6 times in his first 10 mins on the park. I thought then this lad is going to be very good. would love to see him at City, do we need him is the question.......

Well with Sergio leaving that opens one spot so maybe we're getting Grealish in now while we can and see how the rest of the summer pans out?
We know our style suits a false 9 setup plus we do have Jesus, Torres to play striker

I am expecting big things from Torres, obviously not Kun type big things as they are once-in-a-lifetime, but still big things ....

80Million ........ depending on how good a Euro he has ...

I get what you are saying but 10+ goals for a midfielder is exactly what we should be looking for.

Take Gundogan for example:

Scored 13 league goals in 28 games arguably his best return.

His previous best before then 6 goals in 31 league games in 18/19.

Gundogan is 30 years old now, KDB similar. If we can add Grealish who's obviously younger and is second in the creativity department behind KDB then it's hardly a bad acquisition is it.

Granted he won't be everyone's cup of tea but the way the league works we are required to have home grown players. He falls into this category and would be playing with better players.
There's a simple reason why Gundogan now out-scores Grealish, and that is his move further up the pitch. Less defensive, more attacking.

Regarding space in the squad, Ake was presumably bought as cover for Dias and Laporte. Stones wasn’t really part of the equation. Now that Stones has found form, is Ake really required? Surely Mendy is surplus too, even if we have to subsidise a move.
