Agreed with luck part. There was no way we were winning this title with no striker and poor finishing. We punched above our weight and pulled through PL, next sesosn without striker we are going nowhereThere'll be plenty ballyhoo about the lack of a defensive midfielder, but a greater problem looms. We simply struck it lucky this season with no crowds and football played at a snail's pace, something that helped us strangle teams. Since crowds came back and the intensity increased, however, the massed midfield has looked obsolete already, and we simply don't have the legs in midfield to counter teams such as Chelsea. Back to the drawing board.
overthinking idiot
Yes. Pep did almost everything well. No question that.Unfortunately, this thread is peppered with non-City fans. For those who support the club, it is gutting, but Pep has delivered a league and a cup, this season. Tonight, a team played to stop us from playing and they did it exceptionally well. For all those criticising the decision to change one player, for that's what it was, neither Bernardo, KDB, Foden or Gundogan could be said to have great games. It was more of a team that played a simpler tactical game taking the glory. We will come again.
He changed one player. Personally, I do not think that change made any difference at all but we will never really know.Yes. Pep did almost everything well. No question that.
the problem is he did the overthinking again and produced the bad performance from whole team.
Playing a winger to push Reece James back seems a sensible decision to me. He was very dangerous against us in the recent games.I cant get my head around his formation tonight and appriciate if anyone can explain yo me his logic.
GUTTED. Just GUTTED
We didn’t fucking turn up for a champions league final. We got to a final playing 4-3-3 with a false 9. We then change that for the final and lose. What happened against Lyon? What happened against Liverpool? Or Spurs or Monaco. Same fucking shitOr let’s not insult the best manager we have had in our history, Chelsea played well. It happens. Grow up
When a manager has been outplayed 3 times in a row by Tuchel he has to take the responsability. They are good? Yes. But not an "out of this world" team. And giving them the midfield was not wise
I love pep but what a disaster. Hope he sorts this out. Play our best and don't overthink. Hope this will be a lesson
It's not simply a question of buying a striker. The moment you play with a main striker, be it Kane or Haaland, you make the pitch longer and less condensed than we have become accustomed to this season. That in turn puts pressure on the midfield who have to run farther up and down the park, and currently, we have a plethora of midfielders (de Bruyne, Gundogan, Silva, Rodri)who are not adept at doing that.Agreed with luck part. There was no way we were winning this title with no striker and poor finishing. We punched above our weight and pulled through PL, next sesosn without striker we are going nowhere
