Pep fucked us but Sterling gave the most Sterling of Sterling performances he could give.

Fall over all the time - check
Lose possession for fun - check
Run into the full back - check
Bullied by full back - check
Great movement - check
Shite touch - check

I was praying he would just prove us wrong, just once in a CL final. Do something different. Don’t be everything that’s been thrown at him all season. Nope, just turned up and did the exact same as pretty much every week this season. Not remotely good enough.
I don't disagree with any of that as a summary of his season but nobody was given the platform to perform tonight. they were all handicapped severely by the terrible shape and instructions they were given you just can't blame anybody other than Pep for this.

Would love to know what people thought Kevin or Mahrez did better tonight.

Probably our best attacking player, that's how low the standards were tonight.

Couldn’t agree more

Strange decision to play him. He wasn’t as bad as some of the others but did nothing. We had zero control of that game and without control, he, Mahrez, Foden and KDB were invisible

its not happening for him at the moment, i understand pep wanted pace to play balls behind chelseas defense but yeah..didnt work
Foden is hardly slow ffs, in fact he’s actually very quick (and getting quicker), better dribbling, better passer. Was exactly what we needed on the Left tonight.

Spot on.

I guess the anger at Sterling is more based on the fact he did nothing, yet again, to prove his critics wrong.Hes just so lightweight.

He actually wasn’t that bad. But that’s not the point. We’ve been playing brilliantly without him, there was no reason for him to be playing tonight. He doesn’t offer a goal threat or doesn’t come up with a moment of genius. He’s just a good system player when the system suits him.

He was a lot better than both KDB and Mahrez tonight, which just about says it all.

I would have liked to see him switch to the right at some point and have a go at that left back, as for me he’s a lot better on the right and we had nothing to lose, but Guardiola’s stubbornness obviously didn’t allow for that.

Still wouldn’t be surprised if Sterling goes in the summer though as he’s looked distracted for a good while now.

Had a feeling he would play tonight. I thought he’d rise to the occasion given the fact Pep showed such faith. Alas, he was utterly average again. He realised in the second half he wasn’t able to go past James.

He really isn’t good enough to play in a European Cup final.

The chance in the first half sums him up. Makes the right run and gets into the correct position but takes a wank first touch and loses the chance.

That chance was by no means a great chance but the great players take and make the most of them.

I like the lad and he’s a useful squad player but he’s not an elite player. In fact, if ever a player was suited to Arsenal, it’s Sterling.

Other than his average technical ability, his game is just so poncey, when we need bollocks he isn't the man.Whar the fuck is that constant going down in all fours all about?

I can't have a dig at a player for getting picked to start . He is our most out of form player and just can't understand how or why he started . I can't condemn a player for getting selected to start . I bet he was more surprised than anyone .
