Fern's contract was up - he could have easily left and gone somewhere else.

He could, but he's already said he likes Manchester, his family are settled, and he's applied for British Citizenship, so not interested in Brazil or Spain.

I think we made him that great player, especially once Pep took over.

He became a great player here, before Pep, he was brilliant under Manuel.

One of our best ever signings, and that includes value for money.

Playing him as a stop gap Centre half for a season wasn’t ideal but back to his imperious best this season in midfield. Scoring my favorite goal of the season at old Scaffold and his uniqueness showing the younger City fans what it was like back in the day when a City player could get a couple of benefit of doubt fouls from a ref before getting a yellow card.
