Harry Kane

Levy's dilemma is they're still looking for a manager and who's going to want to come if their best player has been sold? He will want a huge transfer kitty to offer the new manager so in a way he really holds all the cards on this one.
Really I thought it would be quite the opposite i.e getting the best asset sold to raise funds and to tell incoming manager he will have funds

Being in a dilemma, and in desperate need of money - is usually not synonymous with 'holding the cards'. That's why this has played out this way so far. Spurs were getting in a mess. Now they're talking this up. They have pretty much blinked.

In fact... think of them at the poker table. We're the table leaders. We've got a big pot coming against them. Any time now.

They've decided to show they are confident, and turn things in their favour by getting a few chips in place...

Blink? They couldn't stop blinking. Also winking, making funny noises, and unfunny jokes. Went full tilt for about 15 minutes, lost a bunch of crazy bets against others. Spluttering, coughing, disorganised, the table was beginning to make fun of them. Meanwhile, the blinds are getting bigger, and bigger.

Yesterday, they got up and went to the bathroom, came back wiping their nose for some reason, and are now making hungry eyes at us.

The status of the game is now: "Yeah... they want a deal".

So am I way off here that if City do pay £100m for Kane, (if we do, we do) it's purely coincidental that the scum are suddenly spouting how they're going to make their Number 1 Show Pony the highest ever paid player in the whole 'istree of football which would make them still relevant in time for season ticket sales being announced?

How long will he wait and city wait till we move on?
I don't think it will be long, not since the Napoli saga with Jorginho we seem to have wised up to it now. Offer a price demand a response if it's not promising and we are being pissed about move on fast and let someone else offer ridiculous money i.e. the rags. There is always Haaland next year for £70m if we can pay the ridiculous wages his agent will drive up....

in the spirit of this thread ( speculation, mountains molehills, etc.) my two pennorth is that a Kev/ Kane tandem would bring a threat we currently lack. Kane's movement off the ball and Kev's radar could be a potent force, not relying on Raz's pace and Gab's erratic finishing. Kane can hold the ball, spot a pass and feed mid-fielders, bit like Kev's goal ,who started the move and finished it off.
Time will tell who comes in of course. Nice to be in the shop with a full wallet and not looking through the window, which was our perennial fate for many years.

or with two years left on his contract he won’t sign an extension they’ll be a circus with his agent!
Then the deal has to be watertight from when he signs, maybe that's the issue and the reason we seem to be out of contention.
