Covid and travel discussion

It's very much circumstantial too.

I'm 34, single, no kids.....so why the fuck would I holiday at home?
I'm fortunate to be in a position to be able to go wherever I want, whenever I want (obv subject to finances and whatnot) so it just wouldn't make sense to me to use my precious annual leave, that I work hard for, against a holiday in the UK.

Even with the very limited foreign options once Covid hit, I've managed to get to Zante, Halkidiki, Majorca, Gran Canaria, Madeira, Perugia and Porto since July 2020.
Just before Covid went crazy I was out in Philippines for 2 weeks....what that cost me for that trip would likely only get me 10 days in Devon in the August school holidays.

Perhaps when I'm older, or if personal circumstances change, then I might start seriously considering domestic holidays but for now they hold no interest to me whatsoever and I make no apologies for that.

Perhaps the high horse posters instructing people to holiday in the UK will finally grasp that not everyone wants to, for a myriad of valid reasons.

No doubt they do their whinging whilst waving the Union Jack in one hand, wanking to Hancock porn with the other whilst singing the national anthem.
No doubt indeed. How can you ever be wrong.
Why do you and others come on Blue Moon to throw insults to fellow Blues and call.people names because they might have a different opinion to you. No answe required.
From the picture you post you seem to have a strange imagination.

I think anybody trying to belittle people for not wanting a long weekend in Skegness as their well earned holiday deserve a little ridicule.
My imagination is fine and dandy thanks.

Not for me it wouldn't. If I want to be out eating my dinner, I don't want someone with a guitar spoiling it!

I agree with the rest of your post though.

Now I've got the image of those dreadfully loud Mexican singers you see haranguing diners in my head lol. No I meant in the pub, I love my live music in a pub, not karaoke though and some drunk murdering Angels for the umpteenth time.

I really struggle to see why HMG get so uptight about foreign travel. If they want to put restrictions on re-entering that's fine and their perogative to do so and everyone knows those restrictions may change. Quite why they want to get into rows about where someone is travelling to is beyond me-after all they could be leaving for several months or indeed for ever. When we go for a couple of months in August, I can easily argue that I am no longer a burden on the NHS in any way for that period.

I like my hols at home and abroad in equal measure but yep totally chalk n cheese and those getting abusive and throwing names at people who desire to go abroad are indee themselves ‘numpties’

I have just recently done a lodge in Wales for a few days with the family and it rained everyday. Tomorrow we're going to a detached luxury barn in Skidby for my dad's 90th birthday. It's nice to spend time with my family all together and a change of scene, but even at 90 pre covid and with sky high insurance my dad would have gone abroad.

I understand people like holidays here though and I guess if you like walking or outdoor sports it suits many.
