Guy from Mirror on GMB this morning seems to think Trippier in for Walker.

We aren't going to agree clearly.I remember both the above tournaments and they were wonderful feel good times,predominantly because we had managers with presence and personality and who played teams that entertained.
Southgate has had it very lucky so far and his brand of football isn't my bag,i just don't enjoy watching this team under his leadership.

There's a reason Italy and Germany are so successful at international football. I think it's partly down to the way their support lets the team play pragmatically.

We're not good enough to win trophies by playing the best football. But we have a good enough team to win trophies playing a certain way IMO.

Not specifically about the team or the tactics but I have a view as to how come England are progressing well this tournament: because of Covid-19 they have formed a tight-nit bubble :) and there doesn't seem to be the distraction of the wives and girlfriends from previous tournaments. Actuallly, I don't remember the WAGs from Russia in 2018 to be honest and that was pre-Covid. Team spirit/team cohesion whatever you want to call it seems to be the best its ever been this time.

Southgate said yesterday there's some players who might not be fit but they won't know until this morning.

That will slow down any leaks - can't leak the team if you don't know it.

Yeah i think the only place open to change is Saka. Southgate loves Mount, just a question of Saka, Sanco or Foden for me.
