He will see things in training you or I don't get to see, and picks his team accordingly. Foden will be part of this squad for the next decade, as will the other players his age who he is competing with. It isn't as easy as moulding a team round one player. It's a squad game, and he's played his part so far. He will play more, too.

Mount always picks up the cones in fairness. Foden was too busy getting his hair dyed and chatting over toni and guys latest supplement with Jack Grealish.

Can only imagine Saka saw a bib opportunity and grasped it(actually he grabbed the lot)

Not sure how old you are, but if you are a similar age to me or younger you will only have seen misery,90 and 96 the exceptions. Since then though it's been frustrating each tournament, but here is a guy who in his last (his first) tournament and now this has got us to semi finals, hopefully tonight making history to get us to a final. Yes he might be cautious at times, but it's effective. So it's not a case of rating him, I don't really care much either way about him as a manager, but as it stands he has us in a very good position.

2018 - played 3 - won 3 (against easy opposition) lost 3 ( against stiffer opposition) drew 1. Gareth had an easy route to SF. 2021 - same again - easy route to SF ... outplayed by Scotland in the 0-0. The guy's been lucky. The luck of the draw " has us in a very good position". And our football has been dire to watch.
