Bernardo is way too good a player to be treated as a functional 'water carrier' like player doing the work of 10 men every week.

I'm not surprised he wants to go.

Top player & top fella, has earned the right...
Maybe so. His goal contributions suggest otherwise though. Still love him, works hard and can be silky but doesn’t do enough going forward. It sums him up that his praise is for his work rate and energy.

Well said Pete. Bernardo is excellent at keeping the ball just a pity pep doesn't give him a more open attacking role. I fucking hate it when I see players go down at the fucking slightest touch instead of running at or trying to dribble pas

Hi Darren, hope you and Lynn are are both keeping well and the business is doing as best it can in these testing times.

Keep well, Pete

I think I must be getting senile. I've no idea what all this is about, or how it relates to a media thread.

Oh well. I'm sure someone will explain it to me - if I cared.

Oil money running out? Surely the AD/UAE/ Quatari (delete as appropriate) goverment would normally just drop the money in with a couple of notifying emails?

(Apologies - I'm just old and cynical now)

Bernardo possible departure and Grealish possibly arriving with his stop, start, falling over and winning free kicks bollocks, would be a backwards step for our team IMHO.

Still no left fullback/wing back of any use.

I hate the transfer windows 8-(
Well said mate. I can see that happening. We won't be able to break with speed. We'll end up being ponderous around the penalty box and trying to get past 10 men and that will frustrate Pep. At least with Bernie he doesn't go looking for fouls and tends to drive us forward. Hate to see Bernie go, one of my favorite players.

We still need a centre forward.

Manchester City owner raises $650m in one of football’s biggest debt deals

Not behind a paywall. Mostly for the NYFC stadium? The comments (even in the FT) are the usual mixture of boring old tripe.

Presumably - it also says the CFG lost £200M last year as a whole.

Would there be benefits to having a large debt with non-Middle East financiers?

The Mirror reporting that the Athletic have transfer listed Sterling, by the time the MEN have spun it , he will have been sold

Do clubs actually transfer list players nowadays, cut a price in half wouldn't it.

Most of the comments about Grealish all assume - if he does come to us - that he'll continue to play in the same way that he's used in the Villa system. There's no doubt Grealish still has a lot to learn but with Guardiola managing him I think his play in a side like ours would change slightly.

Used correctly, along with the vision of KDB/Foden and the excellent off-the-ball runs our midfield/forwards make, I think he can could give another option to unpick some of these mega-parked buses that just try to stifle us. I don't want Bernardo to leave either, I love the little fella and hope he stays for a few seasons yet, but I can see how Grealish could give us a different dimension if Pep can make him tick in a way that slots into our system.

The twat will have to stop falling over though. And he needs to learn to press more......but apart from that, what have the Romans ever done for us?
