While some masks are less effective, the best ones are proven to be something like 95% effective in preventing transmission of droplets. Hence why they're called N95.

Also I have the flu vaccine every year and they tell me that it's based on the three or four variants that they believe are likely to be most common but it won't protect against every possible variant. That's a risk I'll take, having once had a dose of flu that nearly killed me and wiped me out for months.

my wife worked on ITU for 14 months from march 2020
she saw many " fit and healthy " youngsters along with all other age groups die from it
she saw a close work collegue die from covid,all within 3 weeks of contracting covid to dying from it
in my household,its all too very raw still
dont tell me of your kick in the balls.
 
My daughter has deferred for this coming season.
I believe she will be given a ‘ citizen ‘ status.
Does she have to pay £35 to join before she can select random tickets ?

It's a misconception that having the vaccine stops you from catching Covid and also from being able to pass it on (see Sajid Javid for a prime example). The vaccine only significantly reduces the risk of hospitalisation / death if you do catch it.

If you've had both injections it doesn't really matter if the person next to you has been injected or not. The thing that matters are masks, not to protect yourself (unless it's a N95 mask), but to stop the spread of droplets and the aerosol effect when you shout / talk.

In a way, more people having the injections could lead to an increased risk of catching covid as a person who would have caught it and not been injected would have a far greater chance of falling ill (and hopefully staying away) rather than getting light symptoms and dismissing those as a cold and still attending and passing those germs around.
