Seasoncard - 2021/22

To coin a phrase of the Orange buffoon, This is fake news.

What's fake about it? Maybe read up before you throw the word buffoon about. We still don't know that having the vaccination reduces the risk of passing it on, as the studies that suggest they do have not been peer reviewed, but we do know you can still get Covid.

It's a misconception that having the vaccine stops you from catching Covid and also from being able to pass it on (see Sajid Javid for a prime example). The vaccine only significantly reduces the risk of hospitalisation / death if you do catch it.

If you've had both injections it doesn't really matter if the person next to you has been injected or not. The thing that matters are masks, not to protect yourself (unless it's a N95 mask), but to stop the spread of droplets and the aerosol effect when you shout / talk.

In a way, more people having the injections could lead to an increased risk of catching covid as a person who would have caught it and not been injected would have a far greater chance of falling ill (and hopefully staying away) rather than getting light symptoms and dismissing those as a cold and still attending and passing those germs around.

If you have a vaccine though the amount of viral load in your droplets is smaller, plus it'd be better if the droplets landed on someone who'd been vaccinated than not.

I went to the game at Wembley, last game vs Everton and the CL final in Porto. The vast majority of people ignored the mask mandate, even though we were all told we had to, so either way I think you're barking up the wrong tree. No one wants to wear masks anymore.

I don't believe there should be a vaccine passport type situation though, and I don't think it'll happen anyway tbh.

I wish City would just put out a holding statement or something to acknowledge the fact that people want/need answers and just explain the hold up.
Its clear now that all of this is likely out of City's control and they are waiting on instructions from the Govt/Premier league but with every passing day with no news it's getting less and less likely clubs are going to be confident in getting things In place for the start of the season. I don't know how long these things take but what is the turnaround times to develop and roll out a system that might be required to allow access to the ground and check your covid status at the same time?

The Chief Medical Officer for the UK went on record in a Downing Street briefing 2 weeks ago and said having a vaccine makes you roughly 75% less likely to transmit the virus

It's not just about you mate
Too end all this bull shit it's simply down to individuals ! If the league/ government put in to place criteria that's needed for fans to watch football you have two choices follow the rules or don't go to games !! For God's shake all this " Why do we have to do this and why have these ridiculous rules for watching football " I don't like it but I love City and following a few rules and protocols, perhaps turning up a bit earlier isn't going to stop me ! Not aimed at anybody particularly but get of your arse and support the team if not let those who will attend !

Well said Jacko!!
And I'll have a half!!

I’m 22. Fit and healthy, don’t work or live with anyone vulnerable. Feels like a kick in the balls to be rushed into having the vaccine. I’m not an anti vaccer but I don’t see why I should be rushed/forced into it just to watch some football. A bit gutted.
What exactly are you afraid of?

I'd be gutted if I had to watch United or Liverpool in order to get the vaccine.

Watching United or Liverpool is now classed as a deadly disease by the WHO and UNESCO.
The only known treatment to rid yourself of this abominable vile scourge on mankind is to watch City games
24/7 with your eyes pinned open (like Alex in A Clockwork Orange).
A truly remarkable cure to move from the darkness and back into the light!!

Although it's frustrating for most of us, me included, I think City Matters has earned its crust here.

We know that the club has a very black and white attitude to many things and they think about it only from their angle, not from the angle of the fans who may be frustrated because the scanners aren't working, or the older ones who don't have the technology.

We're there to provide that fan view and for once they've undertaken some meaningful consultation with us. And we've shown them there are numerous shades of grey and there are no simple answers. Fans are quite understandably nervous about a system that appears to offer minimal advantages at the expense of a huge amount of risk. And we've made them think that what sounds good in a meeting room at the CFA doesn't necessarily translate when 50,000 people, each who may have a different problem, converge on the turnstiles.

The system has been tested with 10k people and been found wanting. Our definition of "success" with regard to the Everton game and the club's definition are somewhat different and there was quite a heated debate on this last week. Now multiply that by 5 and a few hundred that might have experienced severe problems becomes a few thousand. They need to be pragmatic, not dogmatic.
