He is 36 but more athletic than most players 10 years younger than him. Whether people on here like him or not, the guy is a machine. I can genuinely see him playing into his early 40s

There could be something in that.

I'd take him for a year if Kane doesn't come off. He can still do it at the highest level and I reckon he'd shit goals for fun in our side
 
I would be OK with him for a year, as long as we sort out our long term replacement next year. Would love to see the rags faces when we put up the "Welcome to Manchester posters"

Would the club offer him a similar deal to the alleged one offered to Mesi last year?

A couple of season with us then a move over to NYCFC, he would like Messi be a money printing machine in the MLS
 
Never thought I'd say it but at the present time a yes from me.

He'd score loads, the angst of the media & rags would spur (sic) him on.

Would be end up being cost neural? Probably and would like Messi raise our profile around the world.

Added bonus it'd give us 12/24 months to hopefully get Delap to a level and find the next big thing to take us forward.

He used united as an early stepping stone and improved his game.
Of course he has an affiliation with the rags but it isnt as deep as the glory hunters beleive.

His respect was always for Ferguson, he taught him well, and he never forgot that.
 
Honestly wouldn't mind as much. Dude's still putting in numbers at his age. Still finished top scorer in Euros when his team barely reached far enough.
 
This is an absolute non-starter of a transfer.

It's likely been fed into the media by someone at City to add pressure on Levy and the Kane situation (which we will see movement on by the weekend).

Don't even entertain it, it's not happening.

I can't imagine wearing a shirt at a game with his name on the back but wearing it down the pub and winding up the local rags would be priceless.
 
It’s the lead story in one of the 3 Italian football dailies this morning.

Quite whether it is entirely genuine is another matter.

Nevertheless, I would suggest he has at least 3 very good seasons left. The three seasons he has been playing in Serie A has seen him score over a hundred goals.
