Harry Kane

Typical Levy, he's a tight arse.

Hell be hoping for an eleventh hour deal so he doesn't have time to spend any cash.

It's his ploy.

Kane will be very much on once he's happy he can't get anyone else in or a team are desperate to sell an asset late on for funds to pay debts.

What's astonishing is how every Spurs fan thinks he's doing them some sort of favour, hook line and sinker.....
100% agree. It's like fucking brain washing or something.

Their greatest player ever is now public enemy number 1 and Levy is seen as some saviour.

Levy is an absolute charlatan but I will give him one thing, his PR team know what they are doing.

1st article is from 2012. Bale was not sold that window like Levy said, he was sold in 2013.

2nd article is from 2011. Modric was not sold that window like Levy said, he was sold in 2012.

3rd article is from 2007. Berbatov was not sold that window like Levy said, he was sold in 2008.

If anything, it proves that when Levy is a stubborn fucker who only sells on his own terms.

There is no maybe, nobody outside a handfull of people in the club know all the details, so don’t waste any effort struggling to see or understand the strategy.
Suppose that's really the best thing to do eh? no point trying to make heads or tails from any of these half baked rumors, with the terrain so filled with liars.

Think the window will close and City, Spurs and Kane will still be ‘talking’. And so will we on here.

I don’t even think this is a saga, fuck all has happened since he did an interview with rat face.

Id take a late bid for Bob Taylor at this rate.

i just don't understand why we haven't tabled a bid since june. is the tactic that with so little time on the transfer window, levy will be forced to take whatever bid we put forth?

does anyone here really believe he's just going to accept 120m or 125m or 130m or whatever it is from now until the end of the window?

Because if we do go up to 150m, then what was the point of the last month? we could have just bid that right there, right then and have kane for the past month.

Maybe we don't know all the details, but from all the available evidence i'm struggling to see a transfer strategy that makes sense here.

not being snarky here, can anyone offer an explanation here that makes sense? maybe i'm not reading the situation correctly.
If we don't get a striker in this window that implies we messed up bad this window. For me there are no two ways about it. Striker should have been the priority number one.
Probably our team underestimated levy's resolve and thought levy would fold.

Probably goes to valuation? We don't value him any higher than 100-120 million. His age and past injuries is also a factor. But i think teams automatically bump up the price on players that City want because they believe we can afford it and if we want them bad enough - we will pay.

If the team strategists - who know more than I do - believe that we shouldn't go higher than 120 - then we shouldn't. Especially when Ronaldo or Dusan Vlahovic are on the table for one or two years and at a cheaper price. I don't believe, nor do I think its prudent, for the club to go to a 150 mil offer.

He still sold all of them less than 12 months after saying, categorically, that they wouldn't leave.
Also what about Berbatov?

Erm...right...heard a little bit of info. As always, the disclaimer: there's always a chance info could be wrong, but once again, I trust the person who told me as they work within the game, and they've told me loads before correctly.

They messaged me on Saturday morning saying that they've heard that City want Kane, yes, obviously, but key bit is not as much as Pep personally wants Kane and Pep is very much the driver behind the move. The catch is now apparently that the club would prefer a 'project' striker like Vlahovic.

That's all I've heard. I've don't know the reasoning, so all I can do is my guess - i'd say maybe it's the price? Kane at a reasonable price? Sure? At the numbers quoted? Nah, Vlahovic.

Sorry if that's just a repeat of what is already out in the world, or not - I hand on heart don't know as I'm 100% not really sure where we're up to with this Kane stuff as I've been away and intensely busy personally for the last few days! I was getting married when that message came through heh.

As always, just passing it on in good faith to you guys. Fuck knows what will happen. If it's true though that it's mainly a Pep thing, it doesn't really fill me with joy regarding the Kane chances, but who knows I guess.
Congratulations mate......

How do you know it isn't?
Nobody does.

There's a week to go and there are little to no positive noises from a City side, other than we haven't given up the move. Levy holds all the cards and doesn't want to sell.

Kane will either stay or we'll get rinsed. And the former looks more likely given our negotiating hand has weakened with the clock ticking and Kane no longer forcing the move or kicking up a stink.

£75m + £25m add ins is an embarrassing offer for a player like Kane. Reading between the lines we’ve tapped Kane up and went in with a low ball offer and tried to bully Spurs and levy

Take the info with a pinch of salt. Not to say to dismiss it but don't take it as 100% true.

If we offered £150m it would be made up of bonuses.

Updated my reply - "3rd article is from 2007. Berbatov was not sold that window like Levy said, he was sold in 2008."

We can argue over technicality and the choice of words. But the reality is that each transfer window is different. Pep said Bernardo will stay at City as long he was the manager. And here he is getting sold. Things change. What matters is that in a transfer window if Levy says, "no chance I'm not selling at any price", then usually he means it. That might change later in a different transfer window. In 2022, Levy might be willing to sell Kane for 100 mil.

To be clear, I'm not an ITK. I'm not saying that we won't get Kane this window because the messaging has been a little different. It's "150 million or fuck off". So maybe if we pay that, we'll get Kane. Who knows. All I'm saying is that the examples that you're providing prove the opposite of what you're suggesting.

Providing they can't pin anything on us, I don't mind that we are hated as long as City come out on top.

If I had the £150m I think I'd strengthen DM, LB and make a stop gap forward signing. And place on hold a long term striker. I think everyone rates Kane but his age is not ideal.

true a box standard striker can be 20 goals a season ? a kane or haaland would be 30 goals a season
so the price of them 10 extra goals does not add up to £150million does it

the long term future of manchester city is more important than winning the champions league in my book
buying the best 11 players in the world and having the best manager does not guarantee winning the uefa champions league because its board and setup is so against manchester city and they don't like us

Ahh the "Goal Thief" himself...:)

I can’t remember the fees thrown around and what they went for, but could it be the case with those he could get another year and expect the same fee. With Kane if he gets another year it will probably cost a big hit in the fee he gets for him.Can he afford that for another year.
