Sorry, I misread your post. But still, our two top ITK’s have been confident about Kane all summer and Billyshears was more than confident at one point. Nobody should rely on ITK’s no matter how good. It’s just a bit of fun most of the time.
But City were also confident? Nobody can predict the future.
If City were confident, then why wouldn't their sources also be?

It's obvious that we have to go for him, there is no other! only the Serbian kid and Martinez, but I don't think so... because we need a good goal scorer to win the cl. I haven't seen him play in the last 3 years so I don't know what physical condition he is in for pl he is 36 after all.

As objectively as you can answer, if he was going to some other team in the Premier League, how do you think he will do?

It’s never “done” until it’s official, I’d think everyone knows that.
I said this about Messi and got a load of stick from one of the Barca fans. He kept saying the new deal was signed and done. I said until Barca announce it, it ain't done. And lo and behold 2 weeks later he was in Paris.

No deal is done until the club announces it, and even then there are some that manage to slip through the cracks.

it’s plainly clear the club has once again talked to the wrong people. Perhaps instead of leaving it up to the Charlie Kane’s and Jorge Messi’s the club should pivot to actually dealing with the clubs. It’s bitten us so many times now. Aside from release clauses we’ve a poor record lately.

I think he's shown some great instinctive finishing so far, and his movement is excellent

One game against a dreadful Newcastle. He just doesn’t look like a centre forward to me.

This team needs and deserves a striker of the Lukaku, Lewandowski, Kane, Ronaldo, Haaland level. Torres is nowhere near that, nor do I think he ever will be.

At the very least we need a reliable goal scorer, Ings would have been decent enough given how many chances we create.

This.

They both said we were after Kane. And we were. Confirmed by our manager.

Anything beyond that was basically opinion.
"IMO he'll sign"
"I reckon it'll get done"
"It feels like it'll happen"

stuff like that.

Neither of them said it was done. It's a thankless task, being an "ITK", because if a deal doesn't happen that suddenly means they were bullshitting the entire time. Which obviously isn't the case. But it makes fans, who invested themselves in a potential transfer, feel better about themselves.
Tolmie has said numerous times this summer word for word that "Kane will be a City player" and its easy to search for the posts.

Now, I have followed this forum long enough to now that Tolmie is very hit and miss, usually has very good information about what our targets are at the start of every window but imo he jumps the gun way too often on "done deals". His sources doesnt seem to have a clue how close a deal is, just whether the deal is worked on or not. I don't mind it, it is good fun and he posts in good faith and is a proper blue that probably gets as excited as the rest of us when good news arrives.

But I can see why some people gets frustrated especially considering its hard to strike a balance between "ITK" information and opinion from a regular blue

I'll wait till tomorrow. If the club don't brief we're not interested then I'll start believing this might happen
We've had days to brief we weren't interested, so has Ronaldo, his agent & Juve.

It seems surreal, but weirdly there might actually be something in this. There were briefings that Kane was a Pep request, but the club would rather put that amount of dough into a young, once in a generation talent, similar to the career- long investment we made with Aguero.

Kane was the immediate fix, but it seems we put our valuation to Spurs & weren't fucking around when we said 'That's it. Your deadline is Wednesday to accept or negotiate.". The deadline's passed, Kane's confirmed he's staying put, whilst at the same time all the Ronaldo to City stories have been gathering pace, with no denials from City, Ronaldo's camp or Juve.

Messi leaves Barca. Mbappé might go to Real & Ronaldo might go to City. What a fuckin weird window!

The reason we have a poor record is because we don't get bullied anymore.
Under Garry Cook we'd pay pretty much whatever was asked. Now we'll walk away if the price isn't right.

van Dijk, Maguire, Sanchez, Koulibaly, Kane. These aren't City bottling deals, it's City not bottling negotiation.
