There is an absolute chasm between us squad-wise. The respective first XIs are probably just about as good as each other, give or take a couple of players, but the strength of our squad vastly outweighs the strength of theirs. They have bought well and closed the gap on us and there is almost nothing between us squad wise and clearly they have better strikers. We will do well to finish above them this season.
Sorry, just seen this. Not a chance Pogba gets into a Pep team. I’ve never encountered a player who is so consistently overrated by so many people. He’s been bang average since he’s signed apart from the last few games - and yet people are pointing towards the latter as evidence of his world class status whilst ignoring the former.
Plus Stones and Sterling aren’t currently making our first XI, so you need to have a rethink about those two.
Ederson or De Gea? Ederson.
Walker or Wan-Bissaka? Walker.
Stones or Varane? Varane.
Dias or Maguire? Dias.
Zinchenko or Shaw? Shaw.
Rodri or McTominay? McTominay.
De Bruyne or Fernandes? De Bruyne.
Bernardo or Pogba? Bernardo.
Mahrez or Greenwood? Greenwood.
Torres or Ronaldo? Ronaldo.
Foden or Sancho? Foden.
Henderson or Steffen? Henderson.
Dalot or Cancelo? Cancelo.
Lindelof or Laporte? Laporte.
Bailly or Ake? Bailly.
Telles or Cancelo? Cancelo.
Fred or Fernandinho? Fernandinho.
Mata or Gundogan? Gundogan.
Van De Beek or Grealish? Grealish.
Rashford or Jesus? Jesus.
Cavani or Delap? Cavani.
Martial or Sterling? Sterling.

Quick reminder that this is their B-team.
Henderson
Dalot, Lindelof, Bailly, Telles
Mata, Matic, Van De Beek
Martial, Cavani, Rashford
You could make a case for Rashford and Cavani on their day, and maybe Martial during one of his infrequent hot streaks, but the rest are considerably weaker than their first team counterpart at United. Fernandes and Pogba suddenly becomes Mata and Van De Beek. Varane and Maguire is suddenly Lindelof and Bailly. The partnerships are nowhere near as dangerous or effective.
At this stage of the season, it's easy for United to look good because they've got a fully fit first XI (save for McTominay) and they've been able to let it loose on the teams currently sat in 13th, 14th, 17th and 19th. But their squad isn't good enough to go deep in every competition like ours squad is, or like Chelsea's squad is - if they want to enter the title race properly, they're going to have to sacrifice at least two other competitions to get there, or players like Van De Beek and Dalot are going to need to have the seasons of their lives.
They'll finish comfortably in the top 4 and Ronaldo will score lots of goals, there's no doubt about that. They might win a derby at the Etihad again. They might even finish above us for the first time in 8 years if we don't keep up our early-season form. But that's all. In time, the United shirts you've seen recently will disappear again and the Green & Gold scarves will return at Old Trafford. Solskjaer has made them a better team but he hasn't made them good enough to win things.
Ha FFS, definitely on a wind up. I'm out!
@worsleyweb
First XI: 6 for City, 5 for United (just personal preference, of course).
Squads: 8 for City, 3 for United (again just my preference).
Equal isn’t betterMagurie is an equal to Laporte and 9/10 people not City fans would pick Pogpa over Gundog.
I get that and actually agree with your original point before you took it too far. I think they have majorly improved their team and I expect them to at least put a challenge in this season. But I don't have to think Fernandes, Pogba and Maguire would walk into our team to believe that.Whatever - poor form. People talk about them as if they are shit. They have not lost away in the league for over a year.
Yes but then again they haven't won a trophy for 4 years.Whatever - poor form. People talk about them as if they are shit. They have not lost away in the league for over a year.
Maguire plays with 2 DMs in front of him every game. He'd get exposed to fuck playing in our system.Magurie is an equal to Laporte and 9/10 people not City fans would pick Pogpa over Gundog.
Gundog sets the tempo of matches and is an expert game reader and technician. Pogba does some fancy flicks and long passes/shots. I think if they switched teams gundog could do pogbas role no way Pogba playing gundos in this team!Magurie is an equal to Laporte and 9/10 people not City fans would pick Pogpa over Gundog.
That's the bit most miss, Slabhead would be a shocker in our system however, Laporte/Stones would look even better in thier formation.Maguire plays with 2 DMs in front of him every game. He'd get exposed to fuck playing in our system.
You will catch a few with that. A stat padding midfielder over a striker who incidentally was England's best player at the Euros whereas Penandes barely showed up. Granted his form for us isn't great but you can't compare the two. Maguire over Stones is just laughable, a cultured ball player dominant centre half against a shit Mick McCarthy and your last one is the biggest joke. The only universe in which you are right is if you are counting social media likes. Please don't bother to reply to justify your wind up.Grow up. No i am not on the wind up. Fernandes is a great player who has scored or assist stats are second to none over the last year. There is nothing between Stones and Maguire and on his day Pogba is excelelnt and he has started teh season very well.
So to answer your very ignorantly response correctly - Fernandes over Sterling, Maguire over Stones (Just or certainly on a par) and Pogba over Gundog. Not many could argue against that on current form.
Indeed they all buy into the media wankfest....I personally enjoy the realisation and hard fall they have...the silence when it happens is even funnier than the press going for them.Ignore the noise surrounding this lot.
Have the scum improved? It seems so but they have won nothing with these players.
Another 100+ million spent to turn yet another corner. Rat and his chums have been waiting for 10 years to get giddy again. Think of the pain we have put them through.
For god sake blues let them have their moment in the sun. It will never last. Fuck United.

I agree that they are going to run us very close this season.Wind up? Fuck off you child. Penandes? Are you ten? Why can’t I compare the two? They have a team very close to ours (they have beaten us enough times recently) and idiots coming out with shit like yours is embarrassing.
At this point Mendy? ;-)Pogba? Ahead of who?
Yeh it's right up there with;More bollocks from Neville, copying Ferguson in using a hypothetical situation as a reason why he is better than Messi. Its just ridiculous. Can't remember exactly but ferguson reasoning was along the lines over Ronaldo being able to elevate an average team and make them contenders where he believed Messi couldn't. So he used something he has never done as a reason why he is better. Its just stupid.
Carragher schooled Neville which wasnt too hard as he kept contradicting himself, and was clearly at the view point that there isnt a single negative in signing a 36 yr old Ronaldo. The stuff with if Ronaldo would stop other signings coming in, Neville answers just didnt make sense and he had to end by saying its like arguing with a 5 year old.
