I hear pep is calling the players this morning saying “look guys I know I big them up every year but that’s for the press. We know they are shit & the ole campaign has worked but now is the time to destroy them & fully embarrass them in their swamp. I give you all permission to show them no respect & when you score do a lap around the pitch waving to their sad supporters”

Was on my way to Cornwall that day with the family. The game was on Radio5 and I remember the commentator, the Irish guy I think, saying that the noise coming out of the City end was phenomenal.

No excuses today. This lot have had the better of us recently. Let's destroy them today. We know how they will set up and this clown in charge needs to be there on the touch line looking like a dead man walking!
 
Fucking hate this game.
Stuck a huge bet on the scum to try and soften the blow somewhat if the worst happens. If we win I won’t care about losing the money, but I can’t cope with losing to these vermin cunts at all.

Can’t have anything to do with football for about a week after unless we win either. Awful day. Probably just drink beer and watch the rugby all afternoon.

18/19 we beat them twice in the league, with the 2nd win at OT being absolutely crucial.

19/20 they beat us twice in the league, 2nd game at OT we played 5-6 squad players due to having a difficult schedule and expecting to play the 2nd leg vs Real. BUT we beat them in the league cup and stopped them from winning a trophy.

20/21 we drew at OT and lost at the Etihad in the PL. But before the game we were 14 pts clear at the top, the league was largely decided, and we didn't play our very best XI back then (Bernardo was rested in order to help Kevin regain form). AND we beat them at OT in the league cup, thus stopping them from winning a trophy again. So, draw, win, loss that season.

In short, overall (all competitions included) they had better results only in 19/20. And that season we still managed to win a trophy at their expense.

Iv been thinking this as well.
Don't like the pundits kissing our arses before a Derby game, cos they can't lose then.
If we win it's told you so, and if we get beat then they are ecstatic and forget all about their predictions
