i have given my opinion and given some facts about covid on the front line which i think is important ! i get its divisive for everyone and really hope everyone stays safe! it was never my intention to upset anyone and will no longer post on this thread!

Was told a couple of weeks ago by an anesthetic nurse that they are being briefed to expect another lockdown after Xmas. Not set in stone but they are told things early so they are prepared.

All you're capable of doing is spouting some bollocks, getting pulled up by various posters for spouting said bollocks, and then your only retort is to call people thicko or stupid.

You don't and won't wear a mask, we get it. It's an absolute bare minimum gesture to help protect your fellow man and woman and you refuse to do it. That tells me everything I need to know about you as a person !

See that's the sort of stuff that fuels the conspiracy theories and I will admit makes me wonder. Why, with hospitalisations decreasing, booster vaccines rolling out and deaths falling, were they told to expect this a full six weeks before Christmas? Why wait? This was before the news about this new variant broke.

My opinion is no more lockdowns. I've had three jabs now and everyone who wants a jab must have had at least one now. Those that want to lockdown do so, the rest of us want to get on with our lives. Unless people are dying all over the place from the new variant then just no. If that's the case do it properly. Nobody goes outside at all except vital workers and food and basics are delivered by people in protective suits

She was advised to start wearing a mask again in shops and enclosed spaces which she was, and this was 2 weeks ago. I work in pharmacy and I hadn't heard about it, tbh I really wasnt thinking about covid too much anymore and just go about my day normally. It's only this last week that her words have stuck with me. Wev'e all just got to not become complacent and take some extra precautions

How do you take a pay cut if you are a Band 5 nurse? You would stop being a nurse if it was a lower band.
 
Just been asked if with the new omicron variant whether you can get both the delta and the new variant at the same time assuming the new variant becomes as or more virulent than Delta ? - I have no idea - In the past I understood the Delta variants pushed out the other variants which was because they were fairly similar.

In summary, is it possible to have both variants in circulation and maybe even in your system at the same time and be contagious for both if Delta doesn't get pushed out by omicron eventually?

icu nurses get paid more than day surgery ! some of them were sisters ! less hours etc ! most of them were left traumatized with what they had to go through .

I stopped reading about covid ages ago but She's definitely someone I'd take notice. And if they are being told it may get bad again then it's worth being more careful just incase

Just stay safe and take care everyone.

yep. There are reported cases of people having 2 strains at once. No idea on spreading both mind you.
 
Also I'm going to ask a colleague who's a scientist, he works in a covid testing lab also as a second job . He may have been briefed on what to expect from the new variant.
