Precisely, but the rules would still have been broken, so would anyone be arguing about the safety car/lapped cars had Hamilton still won even though 'rules' were broken? Are people angry that the race should have finished under SC, that not all the lapped cars didn't pass the lead car due to a misunderstanding about the rule stating that any, not all, cars must pass, or just that Lewis lost?

I just wish people were honest about their outrage. Before you start, no, I don't have any affinity towards Max, Red Bull, Hamilton or Mercedes. I love the sport and McLaren, think that it's been slimy how it ended, but its nothing we haven't seen before.

Fairplay to Red Bull today they were definitely behind the black ball with tyre's but they fell.lucky with safety cars
Make the cars the same & Lewis wouldn't win imo 2 maybe 3 would win the championship before him

What's knowledge got to do with it? Hamilton was the quickest and at the end of the day people want to see a sporting competition. If its entertaining all the better but you don't invent the entertainment.

People are pissed off that several bizarre things have happened to crown somebody champion, at the end of the day rules are rules and must be followed.

Unfortunately it doesn't and the FIA's statement pretty much confirms that the term any means any, so the entire pack isn't required to pass the lead car. "Any does not mean all"

It's got nothing to do with Lewis not winning its the fact as a sporting event nobbling the guy who is clearly going to win either with or without the safety car is farcical. It got nothing to do with Max.Masi had a decision to make in a short time and instead of following the rules he decided to make it more exciting off his own back.

It's just such a shocking decision that I can't quite believe it. There are even other questions that haven't been asked, like:


Why was Verstappen allowed a run on Hamilton but Sainz wasn't allowed a run on Verstappen? (There were still lapped drivers in front of Sainz.)

Why did the safety car go in on the same lap when it always goes in on the lap after?


It's incompetent or corrupt whichever way you look at it.

I think it is a competence issue but it has resulted in a horribly contrived result that made a mockery of the first 50 odd laps of that race.

Justice has not been served in any way shape or from.

If Max had been the faster driver on the day, I'd have been a bit disappointed that Lewis was not champion again but it would have been fair enough. Today Hamilton was smashing it.

I have seen some injustices in sport but I think this one tops anything that has gone before.
