Correct, its pretty ridiculous. The whole point is about the NHS "coping", and its barely doing that now, not only because of cases, but because "cases" also affect the NHS, reducing the number of staff available.
People are the problem here, they don't want to catch covid, neither do the majority want to spread it either, but they also don't want to use simple common sense/responsibility either.
As an example, my wife has just changed jobs, thankfully (works In a dentist), her old crew are all out for a christmas party tonight, about 12 staff, and have gone out to an organised party, and will likely go clubbing after that. 5 of the better educattd staff (the dentists mainly) aren't even single jabbed, let alone double, or boosted, and 4 live in London where its clearly rife right now, 1 member of staff refused to go, and has been getting shit from the boss for not going.
They'll all complain if during the next 7 days they test positive and subsequently have to have a lonely christmas, and its that lack of personal responsibility (particularly from the boss of the business, who is one of the 5 unvaccinated) that is the real problem.
Its not just here, its across all societies in europe, yet some just blame "government".
