No.

It was a loaded question.

A loaded question is a trick question, which presupposes at least one unverified assumption that the person/persons being questioned is likely to disagree with......

"A common view of City fans online is that they’re militant and abusive. I’ve found a lot who aren’t and may do an article on what they have to say. That would probably paint City fans in a good light. That's a bad thing now is it?"

This is so obvious as to be puerile.

Where do you even begin? The answer is you don't.

Lee is just a bad faith actor and he's not alone in his debased profession. I don't know whether as he's as stupid as he appears, he may be faking it on the assumption that City fans are as dumb as dog biscuits.
'
Either way he can f**k off.

So he's now blaming Bluemooners with nothing to do all day? Does poor Eccles Blue fall into this category?
Lee thinks he is 'not the bad guy'. I think he is an out and out nasty twat who is not fit for purpose covering City in a pretentious journal that claims to be fair.

The whole issue is in total bad faith. What is the point of producing a news item about the apparent reaction of a football club's fans to media stories about their club? Given that at least 95 per cent of people don't even use Twitter it is not valid journalism. The Athletic has lost its way entirely if this is the sort of content it is providing. He says the "common view of City fans online is they are abusive." Whose common view? The view of his pals in the newsroom or the press box? He seems to be going out of his way to alienate potential customers for his publication. This never ends well.

To be honest, I don't care about them or their views anymore. Don't piss on me and tell me it's raining. I'll watch my team and support them as I have always done, 3rd Div or PL. If someone wants to have a credible conversation, fine - if Martin Samuels wants to criticise us - fine - I'll listen. Otherwise, I'm not going to enable someone to build a career built on shite - and I don't just mean him.

With us possibly having a rather older fan profile than most we probably have fewer twitter users than most. I find it very difficult to believe that he rounded up 100 City fans in a few hours.who were 'reasonable' in that they agree with him.
The 'common view' baffled me as well.

It's funny how we've become the ones being attacked when it would be like shooting fish out of a barrel if they pointed their attention up the East Lancs road to the cult at Talibanfield.

Definitely. City fans being called out by 'journalists' because they defend the club on twitter, when Liverpool fans smashing our coach was largely ignored, or put down to being part and parcel of the tribal nature of football. Imagine the condemnation if our fans had done that to the Liverpool team bus!

Sam Lee's response to the poster who asked him to conduct similar surveys (if you can call it that) for other teams said it all. They treat our fanbase differently and then complain loudly when they get a reaction.

If he pointed his barrel down the East Lancs Road we all know what would happen, there is no journalist brave enough to do that not even Sam Lee. Our fan base as opposed to the cult is comfortable with our club our owners and our future and that is the chemical mix that these journalists are unable to cope with. Instead he tags one of our prominent posters to try to attach him to an alleged abusive fan base when all that poster does is let us know the truth either about our club or the clubs finances and is a well respected poster on Bluemoon along with others. The one thing that does concern me with the ever grasping journalists is why have fans suddenly become the enemy on the front line because since watching City from the 50's I never recall seeing in print, attacks on a clubs fans, this is a recent phenomenon.

I agree with almost all of this, but when you say....

"This never ends well."

I disagree, Lee and the Athletic will be perfectly fine. What possible blowback will there be? As City fans, assuming we're all aware that Lee is being deliberately disingenuous, which clearly we're not, and assuming we all disagree with whatever he's on about, and we don't, and assuming we give a shit either way, we're insignificant in the scheme of things.

We don't have the numbers, we don't have unanimity, we don't have the organisation or the motivation and we don't have a voice.

Lee knows that, he can f**k around with us all he likes, what are we going to do beyond post in here? Pull our subscriptions from the Athletic? You're having a laugh! Giving us a good kicking is good for clicks from rival fans, we all know this. In fact giving the club and the fans a fair crack of the whip would undoubtedly do more damage to subscriptions than peddling his puerile bullshit.

No, he's alright and he knows it, the spineless scribbler might know sweet Fanny Adams about f**k all, but he knows where his bread is buttered.

How long will it take to get the same devoted coverage the rags and dippers get from the media maybe if we win another 5 or 6 league titles and a couple of chumps league then maybe we just might

And clubs who have Aeroflot amongst their sponsors perhaps, alongside Saudi Telecom.
Plus those taking millions in sponsorship money from Emirates and Rwanda. Or from Standard Chartered who've been fined a cumulative total of $1.5 billion for money laundering for terrorists and criminals, much of it for the rogue Iranian regime, and have recently been found to have facilitated big money transfers from Iran to the Taliban.

Ironically, the Super League would have done that. Let me pontificate...

All of this stems from basic arithmetic - there are 4 CL places which guarantee far higher revenue than the rest of the domestic comps can ever provide. And there were 4 teams routinely in the top 4 - Rags, Dippers, Arse and Chelsea.
Suddenly along comes little City and steals one of their places - and since 2012, all of the "big 4" have had seasons out of the CL and lost significant income, whilst we continue to hoover up trophies and "their" cash.

What can they do to stop it - nothing on the field, as we've gone to the bother of spending money on decent squads and managers and the owners manange them well. So, it has to be off the field and persuading Platini to amend the FFP rules to strangle new investment was their main tack, that they've continually tried to make stick. With the one exception at the start (and even that's debateable), we've stuck to the rules. So, the briefings to friendly journos to throw shit around continues to this day.....and now the toon are threatening to do the same, so again the rules are being bent to stop this happening.

Think about it - why is new investment not ok? Why is oil money different from financial services money or jazzmags money or cheapo sports clothes retailer money - its totally illogical.

So, the SL.. well, the big 4 all get a spot regardless of how well or badly their teams actually perform, City get a spot there as well (and probably will win it on some occasions) but everyone gets their money just for turning up. Everyone's happy. The dogs are called off. We go back to one of a number of decent football teams to write about. And it's left to the fans to argue about who is the greatest team the world has ever seen.....

Journalist’s consider themselves to be more intelligent than the typical tribal football fan.
so they can cope with bricks and bottles being thrown(as long as it’s not at them) but resorting to stone cold facts to discredit them as simplistic lazy arsed moronic fucktards that failed to research prior to publishing stories made up on foundations of bullshit really hurts their egos.
