Dragged over the line is the wrong phrase. But he was probably our best player in that run starting in the new year when we opened up a decisive lead

I agree with most of what you’re saying but I don’t think Yaya read a football pitch better than Gundogan, and neither did Pep given their time spent together, and the fact he signed Gundogan first to give us more control on the field etc. At a guess most pundits fans & football people would describe Gundy as an intelligent player when describing his talents, which suggests there’s something in it, I’d also hazard a guess he worked harder for the team given Yaya’s running stats involving distance & average sprints per game, no way a sleight on him, just a point to say the basics of football are often overlooked in talented footballers
 
Probably for the best. Been a good servant to the club but his best days are behind him and its time to freshen up our side. At least this means we have to buy a midfielder of some kind now.
 
Amazing servant for the club, never complained, almost single-handedly won us the league last year. Wish him all the best.

Wonder how we’ll set up, because as great as Rodri is, not sure how he’d work as a lone DM with 2 CAMs like Fernandinho 17/18.
 
If Ilkay does leave, and given that he has a year left on his current contract, what kind of fee might we expect ?
 
The stories today seem more ‘we are annoyed this leaked’ than ‘it’s not true’. Basically a confirmation imo
