Gundogan contract situation

Should we offer him an extension beyond 2023?

Sources close to Ilkay Gundogan have said that he has flown to Rome with his fiancée for two days off. There is a possibility that he leaves #ManCity this summer, with talks planned with the club after the season. [via

Just saying be careful with the uk media , we have a big game and they always do this remember
Especially the Daily Mail. Per my previous post, that rag just puts this stuff out there for clicks, and now we have 27 pages of potential nonsense. I’d still like to know the source of DM’s so called “Exclusive”.

I think £15-20m at an absolute maximum, given his age, contract expiry looming next summer and potential for back issues still being a problem.
Obviously his back issues would drive down the price if they are serious. But the length of his contract is irrelevant IF more than one club wants him.

When Sanchez ran down his contract at Arsenal the conventional wisdom was that he would go for £10-15m. But then United joined the race, it became an auction and they ended up paying £30m.

If two or more clubs want to buy Gundogan and he is happy to go to both of them, then the real issue for the competing clubs is, if they were outbid for him, how much would it cost them to buy an alternative player of the same standard.

Can't believe how ready ppl were to accept hes leaving! I'd rather silky ilkay than some next guy any day of the week

I would give him a one year extension with the proviso that if anyone offers circa £10m in 12 months then if he wants he can go otherwise he can see out the next year which takes him to nearly 34.

Would rather he stayed and helped guide us to UCL be sad if he does go but what a player he's been. This gets said too often but it's true in his case he is a model professional. Whatever happens thank you Ilkay!

This thread should be killed on the basis that it is pure speculation by the bullshit media. Gundogan remains a City player and the thread can be reopened in the future.
Not speculation mate.

93.20blue posted this in good faith. I have no reason to doubt him, he's been spot on most of the time.

"Incomings .. apart from haaland nothing is set in stone at this stage , we are keeping eyes on de jong , Bellingham , nkunku and the centre back Torres .. outgoings I’m told peps completely lost faith in sterling and we are going to sell him and one off Jesus or Mahrez .. sounds like it could be gundogans last season as a blue"

No problem with what you are saying and thanks for the references. I wasn’t actually going off what 93:20blue stated, but rather the Daily Mail Mike Keegan “Exclusive” which provides no source. I see Mrs Gundogan is now referencing fake news in the media. I guess time will tell as to how it will play out.
