Different players with different attributes.Doyle for me is far better than Lavia
Lavia has a higher ceiling IMO.

Don't take it from a few posters, that "we" don't want him. For me if Pep wants him it's for good reason, and I'm more than happy about it, and I guess the silent majority would be too.If you guys don’t want him he can stay where he’s appreciated.
Honestly I think he’d be great cover for Rodri and would suit your system very well. If he has to leave I think City would be the most tolerable destination (compared to say the rags). Problem of course is he’s worth more to us than he would be to you.
Difference with this move is that the three you mention where all brought in to improve the starting 11. Phillips is seen as a back up to rodri hence why people think its madness the money quoted for someone to fulfil that role.I think he'd be a quality signing for us. He's already a very good player and I've no doubt given 18 months / 2 years he'd go up another level once Pep has worked with him.
Ignore some on here. No doubt some thought we overpaid for the likes of Stones, Walker, Dias etc too.
The cost doesn't really concern me. If City are willing to pay £50m-£60m and Pep wants him then that'll do for me.

I think he'd play his fair share of games for us, especially with how many competitions were involved in. Rodri was overplayed last season because Fernandinho's legs were gone, with Phillips we'd have the luxury of rotating more, especially when the run of Champions League games come round.Difference with this move is that the three you mention where all brought in to improve the starting 11. Will it be daft paying more than 40m if we can rest & rotate Rodri & go on to win the UclHe's a good player, and i'd take him at city for sure. But anything more than £40m and its just daft
?Alan Ball was a right winger…
What dream ?? I prefer to think that next year will be our ace signing.Oh the Bellingham dream. I’m not holding my breath
1 injury last year. 2 in the year before that.
prone. nope.
3 months this season. How long has he been out for each time, it felt like a while this season and he got injured with England last week
If Pep being a CDM means he will be able to find the best CDM available, then surely Alan Ball could have found the best RW on the market.
That’s just silly.Lavia >>> Phillips
Yeah I specifically said he couldn't do out 8 role. Don't know why I'm quotedOMG, I'm not sure what football you lot watch or whether you are youngsters playing FIFA. Kalvin Phillips is perhaps the most 1 dimensional centre midfielder I've seen since Nigel DeJong. Yes he could wear a number 8 shirt and run up and down the pitch but so could my wife. What he certainly couldn't do is what KDB or Gundogan does and that's pass accurately and create whilst running and score goals. He is nothing more than a stopper, disrupter, slower downer and sideways passer and if your eyes are seeing anything else then get them bloody tested before doing anything that might kill you because they are not working!
“Could rise up to X” in both reports.Dam, second source reporting the 60m thing. Now that's concerning.
