This is not pessimism, but our board works like that. They are not replacing the players who would leave the club. Guardiola has said that the board has to be prepared if some player would leave the club, so hopefully, they are, but if not, we are in trouble in terms of the next season IMO. Plague of injuries and we are f***ed.

We need months to replace one player and if Bernardo would leave, who is our option? We want to loan McAtee and Delap and both are not ready. So the next year we are going to be thinner than last year?! I know it's ridiculous, but if we want to win every single trophy we need to have depth. 17 players + 3 goalkeepers it's too little.

I think we’re broadly saying the same thing.

Only Im comfortable knowing that its mid June, 7 weeks until the season starts, its all rumours and that we’ve been the best run club in the last 5-10 years so I expect them to start the season with a very competitive squad capable of winning everything.

The weight players give elite agents like Mendez is common unfortunately, he’ll either be positioned into a career defining contract or seek it elsewhere, it’s probably Mendez last in terms of maximising £££ due to new rules and potentially Bernardo’s peak period, me personally. I think he deserves pay parity with top earners and we show him his worth… I just can’t see who we bring in and replicates his worth, coupled with paying money on top of what we get…. I’ve been of the opinion we respect his wishes but I’m now edging towards hard ball, this is Mendez led and we should put him in his place!

The only one that can put the rumor away is the player himself and there's nothing the club can do if Bernardo already made up his mind if the right offer for him is been made and he can be let go to Barca.

We have proven on several occasions that we don't stand in the way of those that want to go. We arne't going to sell him for 50p but it would not shock me if a deal was done.
