Think he’ll be a player lots of people will like. Tackles, can spray a pass and looks to keep it simple. An air of NDJ about him. Think it’s a shrewd buy from the club
Can't imagine why ?
Been told his Dad is, er, 'interesting'.Didn’t realise until today that my nephew played with him at various levels when they were younger, including for Huddersfield’s academy. Not really important I know, but he couldn’t have been more fulsome in his praise for him as a person. A really nice guy by all accounts.
Whenever anyone on that cult-like forum posts anything derogatory about any other club, it should auto fill in the following:Meanwhile, on RAWK:
'Thought he might have more about him than taking the blood money from such a horrific regime. Obviously not. This just smacks of buying him so no other PL team could sign him, and also by buying up the England team it obviously helps with the sportswashing.'
To be fair you are looking at closer to 250mill for those three when you factor in agent fees for Haaland’s move.
They really have absolutely no grip on reality whatsoever and certainly no sense of their own spending. When they buy anyone, the net spend calculators immediately come out. When we buy anyone, they are thrown away, sales ignored, and the agent fee, add ons and wages are all added. Still, it is great to see that we are causing so much anger and frustration.
There’s a reason Ferna didn’t play much last season. Love the guy but his legs had gone meaning we over played Rodri. Phillips is a massive upgrade on the Ferna of last season imo.Look at how many games Ferna played last season. I’ll trust the club but I’ve been saying for a while I can’t see where he’ll fit in.Very slow and ponderous. Reminds me of Barry and De Jong and we’ve evolved a lot since those 2 left. The bits I’ve seen of Lavia suggests he could fill in for Rodri against lesser teams at home. It’s this crazy home grown rule again forcing prices up.
Barry was really under-rated, one of those players that didn't get the praise they deserved. By all accounts a model pro that I haven't heard anyone in football have a bad word against.Look at how many games Ferna played last season. Spot on, of course they did nothing against Madrid the other day, wasn't their fault for a changeWhenever anyone on that cult-like forum posts anything derogatory about any other club, it should auto fill in the following:
‘But our club had fans who indulge in murder, tarnishing the English game as a result, so we shouldn’t really comment on anything we perceive as negative about any other club’
True. You can only say a signing was bad with the benefit of hindsight. Mendy, when bought, had great potential. Clealy had two injuries, His ACL then a torn meniscus. He seemed to be quite positive about City and proactive on social media. Perhaps he had too much time on his hands which led him to mix with the wrong crowd and do very stupid things. We will find out in due course.Definitely a bad signing. Pep rarely gets it's wrong in the transfer market we've done unbelievably well in the windows since Peps arrival at the club. We've had some really bad signings over the years and sometimes numerous bad signings in one window under previous managers.
I think we can let Pep away with the Mendy one.
Wasn’t he brought up my his mam and nanna.Been told his Dad is, er, 'interesting'.
Great signing and glad Pep took my advice..

Yep. Of course there will be certain elements of the media more interested in his dad being in and out of prison than his mum making endless sacrifices to bring him up.Wasn’t he brought up my his mam and nanna.
Yes, but, tbf there were plenty of games where Rodri did struggle, many, rather than say he wasn’t good enough, we’re just calling out some poor performances, nothing more, nothing less, and they had every right to do so.Plenty of detractors on here. However, I recall about 70% of this forum thought Rodri wasn’t good enough 18 months ago. He is now arguably the best DM in world football.
The interesting thing is that over the last week the RDAHMeedya seem to have lobbed a few bob off the price it was gonna cost us a fortnight ago!Hilarious that on this particular topic loads of people believe Miguel fucking Delaney on the price?!
Don't really know enough about Phillips but do know that if Rodri had a bad long term injury then we'd kick ourselves for not having a decent backup in place.
Gundog would be likely but don't believe he's the alternative.
With Phillips we have a backup but we also now have the option of playing both him and Rodri if and when we want a 4-2-3-1 formation.
