Thanks for the analysis. Brighton and bloom may not want to sell but you are forgetting the player in the decision making process. If Cucurella wants to move to city it will happen. Unfortunately for Brighton that is the pecking order. Before you have a rant at me it’s nothing personal. City have been in worse positions than yourselves and sold plenty of players we did not want too. Play hardball, the downside is that you will have a player not happy with how he is being treated and a sale will happen in 6/12 months anyway.

Brighton have no choice really. City won’t go over a realistic evaluation even if that means we walk away. Did you not sell white to Arsenal recently? You are no different to any other mid table team.
Yes we sold White to Arsenal for £50M, but we had cover and arguably better players. Cucarella is a bit special and we don’t have cover for him, so our valuation will be higher, maybe even as high as £60M. Tong Bloom will set the price and if City meet the price then Cucarella will go, otherwise he’ll stay, continue to improve and be sold for more next summer, maybe to Spurs. UTA.

We haven’t held Cucurella’s career back. We’ve ignited it. And he also has a 5-year multi-million pound contract with a club that plays football the proper way according to Pep.
you didn't ignite Cucurella’s career he was already a big talent in spain. if it was not you he would be playing for any club in italy or germany he was not short of offers.

He is one year into his contract. They can simply refuse to sell him, no matter how muxhnhe wants it we want it and we are prepared to pay. Yes it is a risk and yea they might end up selling an unhappy player in a year anyway, but they could also end up seeing us sign someone else instead and he then foucuses and plays like he did last year.

I don't think that is the case, otherwise it wouldn't be where it is and we would have moved on long ago, clearly they are open to selling. But there is no high ground here that we can push from, with a player only brought in a year ago.

Brighton are about to take the Leicester City mantle of the best run club on a budget. The type of club / team that could challenge for European slots and having a say in where the title goes. It’s a difficult path to tread though and can be quickly snuffed out. I’ve always like Brighton since the days of Mark Lawrenson when I was a kid.

City will need to pay £50M + add ons, so maybe you’ll get better value else where. White went to Arsenal for £50M but we had cover for him, not so Cucarella. He was our player of the season and has four years left on his contract, so Mr Bloom will have his serious poker face on. You may not even get him for £50M. UTA.

Guy sounds like the Villa fans of last summer.

Lol.

Thats all true but BHA don’t exist in a vacuum - if you put a £50m plus valuation on him you price him out of a move and if you think Levy and Spurs will pay over £30m you are in cuckoo land. The player and the agent probably want the move - so this may not end well.

Already told Bloom he’s off

he thinks levy was a master businessmen when it was city who came out looking best in that encounter. city set the price and refused to go over and then signed Haaland for less.

I either don’t play enough fifa or watch many teams outside the prem but it just seems there aren’t a lot of decent left backs about. If this is a position that Peps identified that needs strengthening then I think we’ll have to pay what that Bloom fella wants

A big selling point for Brighton must be their ability to attract players who are better than what they have with the view they’ll be able to move onto better horizons when the opportunity arises.

If they price Cucurella out of a move, that will be taken note of by future players and specifically their agents. A bold, risky move which I can’t see them taking. He’ll join us and it'll be for a healthy fee compared to what they paid.

Quite alot on the market this summer, the club have decided Cucurella is the one.

I think you’ll find it’s the opposite, players like Lamptey, Cucarella, Caicedo, Sarmiento choose to come to Brighton because they know we have a brilliant academy and there’s a route to the first team. At the right time and for the right price we let players step up to a bigger club, for example White and Bissouma. With Cucarella it’s not the right time to sell as he has four years left on his contract, so the price would have to be higher than the right price, £50M + add ons. Exciting talent not only gets found by BHA, they choose to come to our club. If Cucarella goes to City, Bloom will wish him all the best, cash a very big cheque and carry on investing his time and money in little old Brighton. UTA.
Well done ‘little old Brighton’

Aleix Pique will be crucial in this he’s a very very intelligent agent/Sports Lawyer. Who made Barca‘s life hell when Cucurella was there and he wanted Cucurella to have more game time
