I like Cucurella a lot. I do wonder though, if we are going to see a change in system with full backs much higher, is he really what we need? Is he the kind of full back to make regular overlapping runs and stretch the opposition? Is his delivery from wide areas a strong point to his play? From what I've gathered from his stats and what I've seen of his play, he's more of a Clichy than a Kolarov. Good crosser, not great. Not slow, but not rapid. Prefers to tuck inside rather than stick to the line. Very much a 'Pep' fullback, but how much does he offer that Zinchenko and Cancelo don't already? For the best part of 50 million, would we not want someone who offers us a different tactical option?

If he comes, I'm sure he'll be great. I rate him. But I wonder what other names we have in mind, if we can't agree a fee.

This is my worry with this signing. Bloom is tough to do business with and if he doesn’t get the fee he wants he won’t sell. Fingers crossed we will pay what is required as imo he will be fantastic for us

May need Cucurella to start making noises that he really wants to join City and push the move along.

It was assumed last night that him liking the City related tweets was because it was close but it occurred to me that it could also be the opposite. As Matty is saying. Not sure, I’m a Brighton fan. I know Leeds thought they could buy Ben White with £30M but he ended up going to Arsenal for £50M.
