It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

It's good money for a player that has only one year left on his contact. We bought him for £50m won numerous trophies with him at the club, Seven years later sell him for the same price...Good business.

I think it's a bad move for Raheem to Chelsea being honest, Chelsea play with wing backs so normally only room for two forward men through the middle and I don't think playing the centre forward role suits Raheem. Chelsea don't play with wide men as they use James and Alonso/Chilwell to do those jobs.
It's so Ironic and hypocritical that Chelsea sold Hazard in his last year and got extortionate fees for him. Yet they feel they can buy an English International who has won multiple trophies and performing at the highest level for 7 straight years, with great G/A stats, with less money~£35-45M, they are proposing is just silly, given that they are a direct rival.

But anyway, it is what is. Let's get that £50-60M for Sterling, that will be good business and lets strength the rest of our squad.

If you look at the city squad on paper, take away jesus and sterling from our attacking options and it leaves us with 4. mahrez, haaland, alvarez and foden. Couple of injuries and things start to look very light.
Have we sold Grealish and Palmer? In addition we have a number of attacking midfield players and we won the league for the last 2 seasons without a natural goalscorer

There is no relationships in business, it all about $$$
Cartels? uneasy perhaps, but a sort of relationship, the secret "lodge" network, the recent multi-million pound fines imposed on property developers acting together to rig auction prices, it is all about $$$ but it is also a fact that even at government level "relationships" are part and parcel of wheelin' an' dealin'. Nowadays it's reached pandemic level, Grenfell being just one example among thousands.

Did we sell Jack? What about Palmer?

When we want to assess the replacement topic
we would have to look at season minutes per player and try to have a good guess how much is individually realistic and a minimum in terms of player's happiness for last and next season. (I did.)

Minutes management is a key issue that Pep has to handle well in such a squad of very good players all ready to play.

I'd much prefer to sign a winger if Jesus and Sterling both leave.

With Jesus going, more than likely, I'd be more than happy with our depth.

If both leave, given the amount of rotation and games, I feel we'd need someone brought in.

I don't think we will sign anyone, they'd need to be some player and there's been no concrete links in that position, but I would prefer we did just personally.

If we are to believe TH and Blue Oli then we will replace Sterling with a forward, one name on the list is a internet melting name (yes, i will post this phrase alot of times on this thread).

IF we can’t get a replacement which is always a posibility, then i guess our plan is to increase palmer’s minutes dramatically.

Well, our resident itks have been likning us with replacements.

What about selling Sterling to Chelsea and beating them to dembele ? I know he is injury prone and I am guessing he has not done what was expect when he moved to Barcelona but we have a strong squad we can cope with one injured forward but we still need to replace Sterling also is he not free agent or something

City must rate someone else coming through higher. Maybe Borges?
Or maybe he just wants to leave. His deal expires next summer, and considering Pep has been public in his admiration of Edozie in the past, I’m sure they’ll have been looking to extend his deal. Perhaps he just didn’t want to, so getting up to £10m for him is better than keeping him for a year and losing him.

Surprising then because if Sterling is going with Jesus if Pep rated Edozie you'd have thought that opened the door for him. Unless city are going to buy?

pretty much agree with this.

Jesus minutes will go to Alvarez
Palmers minutes should increase
Jacks minutes should increase
Haalands minutes will be huge probably at the expense of our false nine minutes ( so that includes KDB and Bernados false 9 minutes but not their wide or midfield minutes )

so we could probably wear losing Sterlings minutes but i'd feel more comfortable if he stayed his final year

Kalvins will get minutes so Rodris minutes will decrease
gundo's minutes may decrease as kdb/bernado may spend more time in midfield

i think

Yea,looks like we may have to rely on Kev chipping in with a few next season as well...................oh wait

Absolutely incredible to think Bazunu, Edozie and Gyabi will fund half of Haaland transfer fee. Unbelievable business by City and shows how we are utilising our academy. This really does bode well for the future.
This is the tip of the iceberg. Just imagine when all our CFG academies are rolling out young stars. A few gems will come to City and the best of the rest will have good careers and fund the operation.
