You forgot to add Kalvin Phillips to that list.Between Denayer, Haaland, Cucurella and Grealish, the busiest man at the club will be Vidal Sassoon.
So "the worst of the worst" will not happen, @93.20blue, because we want a proper replacement if Ake would go. Bajkowski and Blackburn are reliable journos and we will not use young or unproven players in critical situations. We just want to have 4 professional center-backs.
The situation is simple:
- crazy bid, for around 50m£, proper replacement (probably cheaper, just to earn some money), or Ake wouldn't go.

Denayer has only played in a 3 for a few years. I’m not sure he’s mobile enough to play in a 2.He was brilliant with Lyon, he also had a great game against us. Not a bad idea.

That is absolutely right. I followed him reasonably closely. He was o.k. No more. Why would l'OL be letting him go on a free?
He'd be a decent Championship player.

Doesn't bother me if Ake goes. The chance to get more than our money back makes me think this will happen. He's a very good player and likeable guy, but I'd like the club to try and find the next gem at CB. Not every squad player has to be £40m

It is not, we'd need replace both with similar quality and the 100m wouldn't cut it. Plus 2 new players on top of up to 4 already coming is a bit too much change.

Absolutely, but that only happens when players are ready and already featuring semi-regularly for the first team, like Foden, gradually built up to be capable to slot in. There is nobody anywhere near ready for those two positions, unfortunately.
Otherwise agree with a lot of that. Other than the last part as well, which is not how the club should or would operate.

He will be allowed to leave if the money is right.
Ake has been told by van Gaal he needs to be playing for a World Cup slot.
He has no issue going back to Chelsea.
That being £50 million plus and we have a replacement lined up according to Jack Gaughan. He also mentioned we quoted the same minimum price to Newcastle.
Pep seems to value Ake highly as a player and a person.

He's 4th choice CB, we don't need a £40m fully established international to do that role, its massive overkill. He was bought at a time when Stones looked done and before Ruben came and nailed a spot down. Now we have 3 words class CB ahead of him, it's a waste if his talent and our resources.
