Nathan Ake

Ake's value is lowering. He is 25m€ player according to Transfermarkt. Mainly because he is NOT PLAYING.
Transfermarkt values is 100% irrelevant and has absolutely no meaning or truth to it whatsoever. Can’t believe how people keep quoting transfermarkt values. Might as well use a valuation on fifa or some random bloke on the street. I’ve seen you waffling about Ake leaving etc, but we’ll obviously get a replacement if he leaves. The board is not stupid

Seems odd that we'd ostensibly sell Ake for less than we bought him. I don't think he's done anything to depreciate in value and he has years left on his contract. Profit on his remaining book value, but would still be an odd figure

Unless we think we’re weakening a rival by facilitating the deal. Perhaps the club isn’t big on him. I don’t rate him at all, the drop to him from the other 3 is massive.

Citys willingness to sell so many senior players to rivals is gonna bite them in the butt... making City themselves weaker in the process, like with Sterling not being replaced.

Haven’t seen a single link to a cb this window. Mbete is definitely not ready for what Ake did for City last season

Done nothing but waffled since he joined.

Other things to point out about Ake that probably influence what has changed since we signed him

in 2020 we had just come off the back of a season with Otamendi and Fernadinho as our first choice centre backs

kompany had left the previous season

when we signed him we hadn’t confirmed we had Dias wrapped up

Laporte still had question marks about his capability as our only left footed centre back after coming back from a bad knee injury

John Stones head had gone west after issues with his girlfriend and his proclivity to enjoying a few scoops and the company of other women …. Allegedly

Ake was a good signing given the circumstances THEN , those circumstances don’t exist now

get rid and move on

If the Ake money allows us to go and get Cucurella for little to no difference then that is an upgrade imo.

If Zinchenko leaves then perhaps that money is reinvested for a CB or we go with what we have. Likelihood of 3 senior CB's being injured at any one time is low and Rodri and Phillips will be the emergency options.
