I started to watch the one on his career misses but I’m going out in 3 hours so it seemed pointless not seeing the whole thing:-)

Will be equally good/frustrating for Chelsea who will be hoping the fresh start will mean he plays better more often than the last couple of seasons.

Can’t wish him too much success because it isn’t in our interests.

Wonder if Chelsea will give him the no 7 shirt or will they save that incase a certain narcissistic Portuguese tosser joins.

I will personally miss Sterling. his pace, movement, goal return and injury record will be sorely missed imo. Think he will do really well at Chelsea
Kante's had that for years. Can't see them ripping it off him to give to Sterling.

If they flog Pulisic he'll probably get his number 10 shirt which he tends to wear for England.

I could see KdB playing on the right of a front three in some games. His quality getting the ball in for Haaland could be important in games against packed defenses.

The five subs thing will hopefully mean more chances for the likes of McAtee, Cole and maybe Delap.

It's going to be an interesting season in terms of how the team will paly.
I like your thoughts on KDB as iv got £20 on Haaland scoring 10 prem goals assisted by Kev

I suppose the delivery from the right might not be as important, though?

From the right, Haaland will have to let the ball come across his body for his left foot, a much harder skill.

I'd argue Foden and Grealish will have more success where they are delivering from the left and it's running right into his path?

He's a monster, either way, but that run to the front left post is the one to watch for.

Bring it on !!

Foden yes as he’s very good as a left winger, Grealish will be crossing with his right foot so it will always be an in swinging cross. More difficult to hit for a left footed striker and easier to defend. The balls in from the right (Mahrez, Palmer and Foden) be in swingers as well though easier for a left footer to hit.

I can't wait to see him trampling over markers to get to the front post.

Been a long time!

I also think we will be able to defend set pieces even better, just like Kane does for Spuds.

We’re already the best in the league at defending (and scoring) from set pieces. Conceded once from a set piece in the league last season.

I think it mostly hinges on whether or not we can get Cucurella or a similar left back. Jack's delivery from the left won't be as crucial that way and will free him up even more to cut inside.

It is probably a combination of both. And maybe wanting to live in London again. And possibly a bit of being fatigued by Pep's intensity. Does it really matter?
Only in so far if the deal with Chelsea was well in excess of what we offered him one could assume it was the determining factor. I am sure we made him a fair if not mind blowing offer. It matters in so far as it might indicate that clubs are starting to poach our players whose contracts are running down by offering them more money. However, my considered view is that our management took an agnostic view of the likely summer departures and are not unduly concerned and are confident they have suitable options. At least I hope they have.

I'd settle for 10 through balls from central mid for Haaland to use his pace before finishing

You keep pushing this offering a contact stuff. Do you think city if we wanted him to stay or not, would have happily not offered a player of his age and quality a new contract so we can get a fee for him if he did leave? Give me strength

Fuck off I keep pushing it, I've said it once. In response to Pep's representative here, on another point of what Pep really thinks.

You have to remember we have the added option of Bernado going back out wide as well. The more I think about it I hope we don’t sign anyone and try to develop Palmer & Mcatee this year.

With Haaland coming in I think it's more likely that KDB goes out wide.

Not sure I fully agree with you here, I don’t think (even with no additions in attacking midfield or up front) we are weaker than last year, I think we have a different shape, a different threat and an unknown quantity for most in alverez. There is also the fact that pep has seen another year of palmer of Mcatee and might see something we havnt in term of quality for back up roles.

Personally I think we are seeing an evolution of how we will play, and a move to the ‘Eddie Jones’ school of thought (using the five subs) of having game finishers in a slight alteration to formation, he has tried this during the season prior to last.

I could be totally wrong but it feels that way for me.

There is more potential of a defence reinforcement but everything seems to felt to be good by city in the rest of the squad to me.
Yep, we're a more balanced team than last year and the addition of Haaland means an obvious (slight) change in setup. Phillips would further indicate a change in tactics rather than just backup to Rodri. A left back is all I can see us needing as of now.
