Possibly the best put-down of that lot since Jason Manford's line to the effect that "just like rats, you're never more than three feet away from a United fan".It might be the theatre of Dreams, but its the one where all your teeth fall out.

Ridiculous article that proves the MEN remains out of touch with its core audienceDoes any other team in the country, maybe apart from Everton, have a local paper that actively hopes their best players will leave?

Pretty obvious it was not written for City fans.Ridiculous article that proves the MEN remains out of touch with its core audience
You sure it was Peter in 'the Green'?i remember a report, by Peter Gardener in MEN Green, that read " There was a good following of United supporters here at Highbury today the ground is full of red and white scarves". Proves they have always had poor football writers at that paper.
IIRC when the UEFA Cup final was held at our place, Meek was somehow allowed to write an article about football in Manchester for the programme, and used his bully pulpit to bitterly and shamelessly slag off City and our fans. Even though the final was at our groundYou sure it was Peter in 'the Green'?
The 'Green' was predominantly the summer edition mainly about cricket.
The 'Pink' was the football paper and David Meek was the scum reporter, Peter was the City reporter.
I stand to be corrected
Yes I am sure the Evening Chronicle was pink the MEN football paper was green maybe you are too young to rememberYou sure it was Peter in 'the Green'?

Interesting. My dad always said the Chron was a much better paper for City stuff.Depends a bit what part of the city you were in, but the Green’un was quite popular.
The Green was MEN and the Pink the Evening Chron, iirc.
Well I'm only 69 so not as old as you by the sound of itYes I am sure the Evening Chronicle was pink the MEN football paper was green maybe you are too young to remember
MEN merged with Chron in 63 and carried on with both sports papers for a while.Well I'm only 69 so not as old as you by the sound of it
The Chron ended in '63 and I'm far more familiar with the Pink, and it was delivered to our local newsagent at about 6pm on a Saturday night for most of the 60's
Someone isn’t getting any more shifts after writing that…From the bbc footy pages, a heartwarming paragraph;
Another United source was of the same mind. They too concluded the saga will end with Ronaldo exiting the club he arrived at with such fanfare last August, after they stepped in amid interest from Manchester City, unable to accept one of their most famous players would end up at the club that has taken their mantel as the dominant force in the English game.
Have we signed a load of youngsters under the radar or are the bbc hopeless at maths? When I went to school 51+42+0 was 93 not 101.1
