So how will you judge others next season. ? If they post worse numbers. My guess is you will ignore them. Like the rest on here who just don't like Sterling for no reason at all.
Your making an argument where one doesn't exist. You said why isn't Grealish getting criticism for not beating Sterling's figures last season. I said, he would be if he hasn't after 7 years.

Not sure how you relate that to double standards.

Give me some numbers mossie, some numbers that you and I can judge jack by NEXT season. Ones that you will be happy with.

I thought you were a sensible poster, but you are simply being silly now.

We are changing several players and have no idea how the team will set up and play.

I will judge jack by watching him as I do with all players

ultimately regarding sterling the only reason he is gone is because he is not good enough for the team and pep. pep does not rate pace that much and the only other way for sterling to hold a place it to score a bucket load of goals which he has failed to in the last few years. pep needs technical brilliance and sterling is one of the worst technical player and hence he is gone.
I have to admire the fact that you’ve produced this turgid pile of shite without punctuation.
Bravo sir

Mahrez is signing a new one and gabby has already left mate? I still wish there was a way for us to get gnabry though!
Obviously i know gabby has gone, it was just an observation on the situation the club was facing. Raz and Jesus have been great, proven winn
In one Dave! Of course we are run as a business. Was listening to the Sheila Fogarty programme on LBC recently when someone invited on as a 'football expert' described City as "owned by Qatar". Obviously, wrong on both counts. Neither she nor any other contributor corrected the halfwit because, obviously, it doesn't fit the bent media agenda. Apologies for going off topic.
I suspect a lot of football experts do know the truth, it's not click-bait for the red tops.

The fact people are hard on numbers says it all. Grealish had quite a few good games towards the end without adding to a goal or an assist tally. Does that mean he didn’t contribute or play well? Stats will tell half a story, Sterling’s had many stinkers and might have tapped one in at the end. Wolves away springs to mind. I think Sterling benefited massively to being in this city side due to his one world class asset, movement and positioning. It allows him to get good numbers whilst fluffing many chances, it will be interesting to see how he does at Chelsea. Grealish is a different player, technically light years ahead of Sterling but doesn’t have his awareness yet. Time will tell on both fronts but mad you’re bashing a current player to defend one heading out the door. There can be an in between with sterling, many hate him weirdly and he also has many obsessed fan boys who won’t say a bad word about him. Never known a player have that perception ever.

Nope but I can evaluate stats. People slag Sterling off for missing sitters but conveniently ignore others who create very little or score very few goals. It's double standards. Simple.
Some may be biased, but I believe that most of those who aren't nuts about Sterling feel the way they do because they are comparing him to other players in his role such as Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Salah and such and imagining what a player of that ilk could do playing in this squad...his lack of technical skill, poor decision making with the ball, etc. stands out among his teammates and not in a good way especially when playing against a low block...this idea that he's some extraordinary player off the ball is a bit of a myth fabricated by his most fervent supporters to offset his aforementioned shortcomings...if your playing up top on this squad, are not a primary distributor and don't know to move to the vacant spots no matter how tight the windows are when KDB, Foden, Bernardo, etc. are on the ball then honestly what else are you doing? The reality is he does miss more sitters than the rest of the squad combined...131 goals in all comps over 7 years on its own is a very good return (18.7/year)...some think he's a superstar...others think he's massively flawed and over-rated...the truth is he's probably somewhere in between...while everyone notes how much he'll be missed let's ask him in January how much he misses KDB, Bernardo, Foden and the rest of our guys...

yep in many of those games he has tapped in a goal and inflated his goal numbers. he actually had a shit match and tapped one in for 4-0. that is why it is bad to just look at stats and need to look at his overall game. maybe for 2 or 3 seasons his overall game was high level the rest rest he has been average.

Like I said before the reason sterling is gone is because he is technically limited in a pep side and that is a big no no. his pace and goals did not make up for that except for a few seasons some years ago.

Yep one of the first names on the team sheet them years which couldn’t be argued. His years before that and last couple suggest it was more a purple patch or just very consistent form. Even his cult like followers can see his presence has been less and less in the bigger games, they’ll probably claim he was rested

He played for us for 7 years and we offered him a new contract so you are probably incorrect again

The worst part about this is I just know that some people are never going to let it go. There will be a game week where Sterling scores a couple and we get a draw or something and the usual lot will be on here saying we shouldn’t have sold him, the whole team is shit, what a mistake it is blah blah blah.

We’ll never hear the end of it.

Damn. You’ve called me out already.

He played less and less when it mattered. Do you think we’d let a player of value run their contract down without offering an extension? When have you know a player of his age and value not get offered a new contract? Ever? That reason has been peddled too many times on here without even thinking logically about it.

We offered Sane a new deal, didn’t accept and was sold. Many believe we sold due to his attitude and issues with pep etc. We was probably happy to sell in the end despite the contract extension, same here

Not sure that's correct. He was offered a new deal but didn't want to sign it. He could have gone on a free next year but instead of that we've managed to get a good fee for him. It looks to be a good deal for all parties.

Whatever people think of him as a player, he has been a part of our success and I wish him well.
