If he’s only worth 30m to us then it begs the question why we sold Zin fir the same price.
I think there was an element of us facilitating Zinchenko's move as a thank you for his years of unwavering service. We made a £30m profit on a squad player, so it's not something we can readily complain about.

Evidently Zinchenko's move was more about the player & his playing future, than us digging our heels in for a higher profit.

Reuniting with Arteta & Jesus & remaining in the PL is probably best for him & his family all round & there's little more we could have done to help a hugely popular fella further his career.

Spot on.

Hope we get this wrapped up so I can relax.

I think we need one more striker as back up & we are done unless we fully promote one of the kids

Great transfer window for me

Was told back in May that Brighton had already started asking around for a left-back when City first registered interest from someone who absolutely 100% would know that. I suspect even they know he's going deep down. This is all just gamesmanship and I can't see any reason why both clubs aren't aware of that. I think it'll get done for about £40-42m with £5m add-ons or sumat.
Let’s be honest, we’ve been paying £50mill for full back since Walker come over in 2017. Something like the £45mill we paid for Phillips would be ideal.

All this valuation is bollox, the only thing the exact figure affects is FFP.
Other than that, if someone's better than what you have, it's a good signing. If they are not better, it's not a good signing, whatever the cost.
Before anyone mentions 'back up'....if you buy better you improve as a squad, if you buy 'back ups' you stand still at best or more likely weaken your squad.

Had a conversation today with someone at the club who is well informed and it will be done before the charity shield, a player is mulling over a proposal from our side, presumably fringe/academy; I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Mcatee being loaned out, especially with Peps appreciation for potters work and it would be perfect to get him minutes in a similar playing style at the top level, that would be sparse in comparison here for 12 months!

That for me would be a great shout Zin and it would certainly help in Mc`s development with a very good manager who at least likes his players to attack.

Would rather see McAtee develop with our squad than with another. There is no guarantee he'd get minutes as a loan player where clubs have no real interest in developing him. Most PL teams have full squads and he'd be a back-up option, no different to here. Yes we have better players in the squad, but more invested in his development too. Plus, as it stands we have 3 spare spaces for registered senior players and a squad smaller than most, so he might have more of a chance at getting minutes here than elsewhere, while showing Pep his development.

There was something on Twitter about Maupay having an offer in Italy. So it could be Delap maybe?

I think it's probably more likely to be a permanent move for someone like Delap or Wilson-Esbrand.
