Checks phone it's 20:28 didn't cost me 10 grand.
A good mate of mine is selling a nice Omega Seamaster.. Not the 007 version but very similar.. I might buy that as I can wear it and not devalue it as it’s at a good priceYou'd have to wait a long time to see any kind of return on a tag, even the automatic ones.
You're right, they are nice, but overpriced to start with.
Rolex aside, if I was looking for an investment piece, I'd be buying the earliest omega speedmaster I could get my hands on, with provinence. Or an early seamaster chronograph, or breitling wise, a nice navitimer, or first edition aerospace.
I wouldn't bother with anything new, unless a few nos skx's came along.
I like a big watch so I’ll have a look at used SeamastersSpeedmaster with a column wheel mvmnt ( calibre 321) or that calibre in a seamaster chrono should 42mm be too big...the seamaster deville from the mid 60's is a darling, expect Daytona competition for clean examples.
Hi mate. I’m pretty sure the modern day Tags dont appreciate in value so if it’s an investment you’re looking for steer well clear.Lost my brother last month as I'm sure I've said on here... He left me a gift from his death in service policy and I have no immediate plans to spend the money but it would cover the retail price on a Rolex Daytona... I put my name down for one about a year ago but don't hold out much hope of getting the call as i've got zero history with the dealer.
I've thought about the Omega Moon Watch but haven't looked at one yet
A friend of mine works for P&O and with her staff discount I can get a Tag Monaco for around half the retail price (around £2,800 with the saving) when she's next on board next month but I'm not sure that A. it's actually an investment and B. whether I'd always consider it as a substitute
There's no rush to invest in anything but I do want to put it to good use
Off topic but I did swap his season card over to my lads name as we sat together at the Etihad but sadly I had zero joy trying to keep the points he'd amassed even though it was staying in the family.. Rules are rules I guess
It’s not an investment necessarily but as I’m buying something with money our kid left I’d like something that at least holds its own.. the Seamaster I was offered for £1500 seems to be a no brainer .. he just needs to find the box as it’s been put somewhere safe when they moved… it’s 100% legit though .. I’ve known him for years and he used to wear it at the officeHi mate. I’m pretty sure the modern day Tags dont appreciate in value so if it’s an investment you’re looking for steer well clear.

Have you thought about a grey market buy ?Damn. So much for me planning to get one this year.
;-)
Good, the 007 version is the last thing you want.A good mate of mine is selling a nice Omega Seamaster.. Not the 007 version but very similar.. I might buy that as I can wear it and not devalue it as it’s at a good price
I wasn't being totally serious!Have you thought about a grey market buy ?

I've owned a couple of these. The bracelet itself is a work of art. The watch is a modern classic, 1500 is a bit of a bargain. These will only go one way price wise. Buying a nice watch is probably like owning a nice car, it’s what you want to be seen in, I get taxis and use my phone, no right or wrong, if you can afford a £500k watch and want get it, I’d rather buy a house.Even if I won the lottery, I just couldn't imagine me spending mega money on a watch. Some of the tags under 2k are very nice watches. Something like this.....

Maybe it's just me, but that's a lot of money to shell out on a, well, ugly watch
Not strictly true mate,my Monaco has appreciated £500 in a yearHi mate. I’m pretty sure the modern day Tags dont appreciate in value so if it’s an investment you’re looking for steer well clear.
Beautiful,I have the same only with blue dial,if you can afford it get in thereIt’s not an investment necessarily but as I’m buying something with money our kid left I’d like something that at least holds its own.. the Seamaster I was offered for £1500 seems to be a no brainer .. he just needs to find the box as it’s been put somewhere safe when they moved… it’s 100% legit though .. Does your phone contain 600 parts all finely machined and assembled by highly skilled watchmakers?Checks phone it's 20:28 didn't cost me 10 grand.
Does your phone contain 600 parts all finely machined and assembled by highly skilled watchmakers?
Can it trace its history back 100 years or more?
Does it still work when the battery runs out?
Does it still work 200 metres under water, or on the moon?
Would you trust it with your life?
Will you leave it to your son as a treasured heirloom when you've gone? Will he look at your phone everyday and remember you?
I bet you've bought many phones in your lifetime.
You only need to buy one watch.
It's the only watch I've regretted selling, twice.Beautiful,I have the same only with blue dial,if you can afford it get in there
You speak from experience ;-)All valid points. I'd like to add that you'd have a hard time sticking a phablet up your arse.
