Won’t be sinking in at all. If Cucu wanted city that badly he would be at city. It’s not the clubs fault his valuation is unrealistic. Advanced talks with Chelsea tell its own story. He handed in a transfer request yesterday and today he is off to the chavs lol.

Everyone is so focused on the fee. Whatever alternative reality you are in please stay.
How would he be at city if he wanted to be ?

I’m a staunch advocate of Begiristain, and wouldn’t swap for any other DoF in the world. Still doesn’t make him beyond reproach though.
Totally agree Ric although, Txiki can’t be questioned until the window shuts surely ?

We don’t have the inside info to know the intricacies and what’s going on behind the scenes when it comes to Txiki negotiating transfers, so I’m not sure how valid criticism can be offered. I think it’s fair to assess Txiki and the window as a whole when it closes but to criticise him for how we handle a transfer when nobody has a clue what’s actually happening seems ludicrous.

Would've loved him but what I love much much more is the club's stance. We will not be held hostage for mediocre players who haven't proven themselves for more than a single (!) season. Let chelsea have him and he can be stuck there not winning anything.

City have paid big doe for every full back we have, they just do buisness the correct way and pay what they value a player at,and is always fair ,its not my money so doesent hurt my bank, but i do think if we venture up to 50 mill,we may aswell go more and get better, theres a reason city wont pay it,and it aint because they dont pay it,he just doesent warrent it ,its as simple as that
Quite right, it’s too deer.

It’s looking quite possible, but let’s see what this week brings first before jumping to any conclusions.
Happy to wait. I am also a big Txiki fan but I’m not going to pretend everything is fine and lovely if I think we may have made a mistake because everyone makes them. I still wonder if we would have adequately replaced Ake had Chelsea coughed up.

I don’t understand this window very well and I’m not a fan of blind faith. Do you know why we have accumulated an unheard of £222 million in one window yet are being quite frugal on incomings? Or why, given the World Cup is in the middle of this season, we haven’t got a few more players in to cover the extra workload given what happened at the end of last season? These are reasonable questions don’t you think?

We have done fantastically well without one, heck even without a striker which we now have addressed but we really should have sorted the LB position as well,in the really big games those moments when a LB could be the difference from having to shoehorn some into that position and the fine margins of a game that sees you over the line ..
A bit like zinchenko in villa game eh..

It was a reply to another poster who is convinced Cucu will be a city player this week. The only way that happens is Chelsea pull out, Brighton cave in or city match Chelsea at 50m, in which case that will surky start a bidding war.
