Who should we sign at left back?

Tbf, they have for five players for three positions and they are all capable of sticking the ball in the back of the net. I’d say they’re in a pretty good place right now.
 
Still on the Air Nouri Express. But I'll happily walk across to the Gomez ramp if Gaya isn't running :)

No, I know it’s okay.But I don’t think it’s deeper than ours which I also think is okay.

Hahah, he played against us in our first CL match vs. Liepzig.

He wasn't bad, but not memorable I believe. He does play CB more than LB, but as I mentioned the way Pep utilizes Walker and Cancelo, is to allow them to cut inside and, Walker especially as a hybrid CB.

He loves to get forward, can dribble, whilst having strong vision and passing ability. Oh yeah, and can defend.

Cucurella has been targeted as well, I suspect, being seen as someone who can also play CB in a pseudo back 3.

I've watched Gvordiol a little bit since and you can see why we know Barca, Utd, City and Chelsea have been sniffing around increasingly over the past year.

I know many well regarded scouts and "experts" in football see him as a massive talent:

Konate is very good tbf. I’m sorry but we are looking a bit short in some key positions particularly LB and a winger. We can’t seriously go into the new season with 2 right backs and some players who can cover LB when needed?!

Totally agree! Pep is a master at covering the cracks in the squad over the years. LB is becoming a total joke now though. We should have been in a position to sign a new LB as soon as the Mendy stuff happened.

Didn’t Cancelo get voted in the team of the season at LB last season? I agree maybe we are a bit short, but I also think we go into every season in some way short in a certain area and it’s always turned out ok so far.

I think it would have been perfect transfer window had we not sold zinchenko. No LB needed. But they created this mess by selling zinchenko ,which was , in my opinion, a miscalculation

It isn’t a mess though is it. If we are were we are in 4 weeks it may be but it’s not now. Zinchenko wanted to go and even before he did we were looking for a specialist left back so nothings changed.

We don't know if zinchenko wanted to go. They should have sorted the LB situation before selling zinchenko. In my opinion, they made a miscalculation. Hopefully they sign a LB.

Of course he did or else he’d still be with us. Zinchenko makes no difference to whether we do or we don’t get a left back. We will, we have 4 weeks to do it.

I loved Zinchy but know in hindsight 30M for him was good business- I agree the gaping hole at LB gives me pause but I have no doubt we will sort it in some fashion. We simply can't be bullied into throwing an additional 10-15M at a player just because that's what so many try to do to us. Stay the course- read who is available and make the correct and best deal. If the window closes and we have no LB- then it's time to worry.

I don't want us to pay 50mil for cucurella if we don't think he is worth it and I don't blame club for that.
I don't know what happened with zinchenko, I can only speculate. But If they don't sign a LB this season, selling zinchenko is the worst business we could have done ( in this season)
