He’s the third longest serving player, and seems to be popular member of the squad. Always seems pretty vocal on the pitch too, but who knows what criteria the players look for when voting?

players like KDB the "flair" players dont need to be captain, they just need to concentrate on their own game not worry about everybody elses .

I believe there's more to the Leadership Group than being captain on the pitch. They're given extra responsibilities off the pitch, and are also a bridge between players and management.

With the amount of titles he's already won at City and his game changing performance against Villa which will go down as one of the most iconic last day matches in PL history, I would say he's already a club legend but I guess that kind of thing is subjective.

If he captains us to our first ever Champions League success that would be the cherry on top.
