Bernardo Silva

But if such gestures will encourage the Barcelona fanbase, City have still not received any bids for the player and the squad are still expecting him to be part of the group. The club would need time to find a replacement for Bernardo on top of getting a sizable fee that reflects the 28-year-old's quality.

An encouraging quote from Kev
Makes sense.. too late in the day for surprises.

And strangely.. this might sound crazy but the way Romeo Lavia is playing.. when Bernardo does go (next season), it would not be surprising if City think long and hard about Romeo Lavia again after he shows he's got PL experience.

We don’t NEED to sell and that’s why we hold all the cards here. We can in theory just hold out, we know he’ll not kick up a fuss, and we know Barça are wet for him so they either pay the money or walk away looking silly for mouthing off.
The Barca PR machine is the thing that pisses a lot off, every time the PR goes into overdrive I'd put the price up by a couple of Million. Got to teach these fuckers their place.

Too soon for Lavia although he is worth keeping tabs on

I wonder if he went would we replace him with two players a wide player and a midfielder seeing as he has played all over for us and it seems people cannot think of a suitable replacement

I'm all for finding a compromise but the club has to do what's best for Manchester City. Personally I think £80m is an absolute joke, Leicester are turning down bids of over £50m for James Maddison, Wolves have turned down £40 for Gibbs-White ect...

Bernardo Silva is one of the very best midfield players in Europe with still three years left on his contract so we should be looking at more than £80m for him.

I'm sure both clubs will come to an agreement regarding a price and more than likely a lot of it will be add ons due to the financial state of Barcelona.

Maybe its my hatred towards Barcelona and my love for Bernardo Silva but fuck that for doing these twats any favours, We've already turned our nose up at £16m for Garcia in a January window yet he was going their for free anyway a couple of months later on top of the Ferran Torres deal, Then you've the charity event whilst the season has already started whatever that's about...
Barca never offered us anything like that for Garcia. It was nearer £4m up front plus some difficult add on clauses.

I think an approach is inevitable. It’s hardly a secret that Barca want him, but reassuring to hear he won’t be allowed to leave on the cheap.

again though we need a world class replacement BEFORE he goes? Unless things are further down the line than we know about and this is now optics?
