Palmer up for Golden Boy award
Cole Palmer has been named in the 60-strong shortlist for the 2022 Golden Boy award.
I voted for Cole, he is in the lead at the moment.
Does anyone know if he has injury issues in the academy? Or has this just been bad luck?
I really like Palmer, he's got the talent and seemingly the right mentality, but this is the year he needs to stake his claim.
We've got a relatively thin squad, and there are lots of games to go around. He's still young (turns 21 in May according to wiki) but at the age he needs to be breaking through - the opportunity is there for him, I just hope it's not injuries that hold him back
Ah got it, thanks for that. That has to be frustrating for him I'm sure but fingers crossed he can get over it soon and stay off the treatment tableNot that I know of. Think he's got this one niggly injury that won't clear.

Which bit ? He was in the lead when I voted but thanks for calling me a liar. There's no way this could possibly be true

He is 5th at the moment now. Seems to have been loads of votes for Musiala (sp) Bayern over night and Camavinga. Wish I had screenshotted it now.Come on man, a guy who's lucky to get off our bench ten times a season is not in the lead ahead of Bellingham, Camavinga and Musiala. I'm not calling you a liar, I'm saying there was a mistake somewhere.

Completely agree. He just makes things happen when he's on the ball. Nice to see him get player of the match @SebastianBlue :-)He’s a joy to watch. Even amongst all the world class players he stands out or does something. Very unique playing style and one of our own!
Think that was very generous. Apart from the goal, I was not impressed with tonight’s showing.Completely agree. He just makes things happen when he's on the ball. Nice to see him get player of the match @SebastianBlue :-)
Loved his showing today and I was really impressed when nothing was on, he didn't make bad decisions or force the issue. He's a lot better at pausing it like Gundogan and David Silva.. much more mature than his age would suggest!
He started against Everton last season in the league as well as against WHU in the EFL cup. Also started against Swindon in the FA & Liverpool in the Community Shield. If not for his injury I suspect he'd have had more. Have no worries about Palmer getting starts and lots of minutes this season.Do we see any realistic features in which he is given a start or are we expecting just some occasional minutes + cup games? Big hopes for him as a player with an aging Mahrez. Seems Pep might also be keen on the idea of having Bernardo on the wings now that Gundogan is in good form and a starter in the midfield.
And the way Palmer's facial expression didn't change at all.. had me rolling lol.Top quality and can play anywhere across the front 5 positions.
He sent Kounde for a hot dog in the 1st half and a better shot (which is usually his best attribute) would've seen a lovely goal.
The move for his tap in was brilliant as well and the reaction he got from Gundogan said it all.
Palmer is a player.
