For this particular case the club need to re-evaluate their principles and keep him for another season. This "only keep a happy player" ethos shouldn't be inflexible, especially when it's to our detriment. I mentioned this a few weeks back but it bears repeating; we do what's best for Manchester City Football Club, and at this late stage there are zero positives to letting Bernardo go. None.

We will regret it if we let him go now, because we won't be bringing in a replacement. And that's our season derailed, in my estimation.

Our squad is just about as small as we can handle, and the window closes in a week.

If we sell we HAVE to buy, and there is absolutely no way clubs will sell there top players just before the window closes unless we get absolutely fleeced. I also can't think of a replacement that exists right now.

Edit: Also the 70m euro offer is laughable, atleast 20-30m more.
