i'm a royalist , i am heartbroken , but for the life of me i can't see what cancellation of any sport achieves . if anything it's a great way to clear your head for a while , an escape if you like.

Or is this you being selfish, something you love more than the death of the Queen has been taken away from you ? Not bothered myself personally,
but no football for 1 week to show some kind of grief for your queen is not unreasonable. "Clear your head for a while" it's called mourning.

I still don’t understand why people are having a go at the queen or the monarchy when they explicitly said you don’t have to stop and many other sports aren’t.

Whether the monarchy is good or bad is really quite irrelevant. This decision starts and ends with the FA, and once again they absolutely drop the ball, not fit for purpose!

I don't think many can quite comprehend what a huge moment in time this is, irrespective of your own viewpoint.

It's bigger than any sport, stuff our great grandchildren will be reading about in school 100 years from now.

From the woman that when her daughter in law died in a tragic accident the first thing she though was to take the grandkids on holiday and refuse to show any sign of respect?

I hate Tony Blair with a passion, he should be now under lock and key, but that man saved the Queen and royalty from oblivion after the post Diana death.

All sport should have continued this weekend and a two minute silence, singing of the national anthem a fitting way to show respect for a woman that did like her sport and a woman that thought life always has to go on.

The only thing I can think is that with all the fuckers visiting sites to wallow in grief that the police would be overstretched and this is the reason . Policing is not needed as much for horse racing and cricket so these go ahead same with rugby

Or it deprives them of a chance to bounce back with a very winnable home game against injury ravaged Wolves. Next game for them Chelsea away. I don’t see this is great for Liverpool, it probably suits us more.
